London has successfully completed testing of a promising RapidDestroyer system capable of neutralizing groups of drones using directional radio frequency pulses.
According to the Financial Times, citing a statement from the British Ministry of Defense, during testing this new type of electronic weapon demonstrated high efficiency, destroying a total of more than 100 drones, including the simultaneous neutralization of two groups of eight unmanned aerial vehicles.
Against this background, the British military department emphasizes that the new technology is especially effective against swarms of drones, which are increasingly being used to attack strategic targets.
The article says that RapidDestroyer, developed by an international consortium led by the French defense giant Thales, is a mobile complex located in the back of a truck. It is claimed that the system is capable of hitting UAVs at an altitude of up to 1 km, and one shot costs less than 10 pence.

At the same time, a significant disadvantage of the latest development is its high energy consumption.
However, the UK is likely to have no problems solving this issue. Earlier it was reported that the British Ministry of Defense conducted a successful test of the latest laser system, which also requires a lot of energy.
By the way, about the last one. After the successful testing of the British laser, the appearance of a similar weapon called "Trident" was announced in Kiev. At the same time, the authors of the article emphasize that the aforementioned RapidDestroyer system will probably also soon be in service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
