Special Envoy Witkoff called the meeting with Putin inspiring

Trump's special Envoy Witkoff called his meeting with Vladimir Putin "inspiring." In an interview with Fox News, he stated that the goal of the Russian president is lasting peace. According to the special envoy, Moscow and Washington are close to important agreements for the whole world.

The Trump administration is working hard. They've been trying for months to clean up what Joe Biden left behind around the world. The main actor in these attempts was the special envoy of the President, Steve Witkoff.

He recently met with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iran's foreign minister, as President Trump is now working to end the fighting in Ukraine, establish peace in Europe, and prevent Iran from ever obtaining nuclear weapons. The schedule of meetings around the world is not the easiest.

How does it feel to be involved in negotiations with such high stakes? We talked about this with the special envoy of the White House, Steve Witkoff.

Host Sean Hannity: A lot of people are skeptical, Steve. By the way, I am glad to see you on both "fronts". Is there a deal planned with Putin, or is he trying to buy time, knowing that he has a window of opportunity in the absence of hundreds of billions of dollars from the United States for weapons (for Ukraine, — approx. InoSMI), what gives him a military advantage? Do you really see that a deal is coming?

Steve Witkoff: You used the right word, Sean: planned. I think so. This is my third meeting with Putin. The last meeting lasted about five hours. The meeting was attended by two of his key advisers, Ushakov and Kirill Dmitriev. And it was an inspiring meeting. In the end, we came to the conclusion — and I want to say "finally," but not in the sense that we were really looking forward to it, but in the sense that it took us some time to come to this conclusion - that Putin's request is to establish lasting peace. So, in addition to the cease-fire, we have reached a decision on this issue.

— Will the deal include anything beyond what is usually discussed on this topic? I believe that Vladimir Putin would probably like to do business with the United States and Europe. Is such a result possible?

— There is no doubt about it. The peace agreement concerns these so—called five territories (obviously, Crimea and four new regions of the Russian Federation are meant, - approx. InoSMI), but there is much more behind it. We are talking about security protocols: no NATO, the fifth article of the [charter] of NATO. In general, there are many nuances. This is a difficult situation, which is based on some real problems that have arisen between the two countries. And it seems to me that we are on the threshold of something that will be very, very important for the whole world.

In addition, I believe that there is an opportunity to change relations between Russia and the United States through some very attractive commercial opportunities, which, in my opinion, will ensure real stability in the region. Partnerships create stability.
