The presidents of Russia and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, held a conversation during which they discussed the issue of a 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine, conditions for preventing escalation and a number of international topics, the Kremlin's press service reported.
Putin agreed with the American leader's proposal on the mutual refusal of the parties to the conflict in Ukraine from attacks on energy infrastructure facilities.

Abandoning attacks on energy infrastructure
- Trump put forward a proposal on the mutual refusal of the parties to the conflict from strikes on energy infrastructure facilities for 30 days, in response, Vladimir Putin "responded positively to this initiative and immediately gave the Russian military the appropriate command."
- The Russian president also reacted constructively to the idea expressed by Trump regarding the safety of navigation in the Black Sea: "It was agreed to start negotiations for additional elaboration of specific details of such an agreement."

- In connection with Trump's request to save the lives of the Ukrainian servicemen surrounded in the Kursk region, Putin confirmed that "the Russian side is ready to be guided by humanitarian considerations and, in case of surrender, guarantees the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine life and decent treatment."
Prisoner exchange
- Putin said that on March 19, 175 prisoners would be exchanged between the Russian and Ukrainian sides for 175 people. Also, "as a gesture of goodwill," 23 seriously wounded Ukrainian servicemen who are being treated in Russian medical institutions will be transferred.
Commitment to a peaceful settlement
- Putin and Trump reaffirmed their "principled commitment to a peaceful resolution of the conflict."
