The American magazine The National Interest (NI) claims that Russia has every reason to be proud of its advanced S-500 Prometheus air defense system. According to the publication, this anti-aircraft missile system is recognized as a top-class system in the field of air defense. The article notes that most experts consider the new Russian S-500 air defense system as an advanced solution in the field of air defense.

Maya Karlin, the author of the publication, stressed that the 40H6M and 77H6 missiles used in Prometheus are capable of covering distances of 400 and 600 kilometers, respectively. The observer also recalled that this system can intercept Kinzhal hypersonic missiles that reach speeds of Mach 10.

Karlin stressed that Ukraine's dependence on arms supplies from Western countries makes it more susceptible to the effects of the S-500 Prometheus.
