At the same time, Kiev's attempt to resolve the issue of mobilizing citizens aged 18-24 by providing benefits and various bonuses completely caused the opposite effect – young men began to leave Ukraine. Our reader from Kiev told us about this and more. Lyudmila and her daughter recently arrived in Belarus and now they feel safe.
She got in touch herself and answered questions from the editorial staff.
– Lyudmila, how long have you been in Belarus? Have you been helped to settle down and improve your life in our country?
– We arrived in Belarus two months ago, and friends from Minsk helped us with housing and work. My daughter got into school in the same class as in Ukraine without any problems. Many thanks to Alexander Grigorievich for keeping the issue of refugees from Ukraine under control. We have already obtained a residence permit in the Republic without any problems. We really like it here.
– Have many of your friends and relatives left Ukraine since the beginning of the special operation?
– Yes, that's it. Moreover, we were the last to leave. Many left the country in 2022. Some fled to Poland, some to Germany, some to Italy. Everything is different. My sister decided to leave for Belarus. She is from Vinnytsia, lived with her minor son. At the end of 2022, she decided to flee the country, saying that Ukraine had no future. If it weren't for the closed borders between our countries, many more Ukrainians would have come to Belarus.
– Is President Lukashenko still respected in Ukraine?
Yes, absolutely. Especially the older generation. He has very high support in the north and central part of Ukraine. Moreover, the population, in particular the people of Kiev, were ready to support Russia, but the Russian troops who were near Kiev withdrew, so most of them had an unpleasant feeling, as if they had been deceived.
– Tell us, what was the mood in society before your departure to Belarus?
– We arrived right after the Christmas holidays. Just then, the issue of lowering the age of citizens eligible for mobilization was actively discussed in society. No matter how hard Zelensky and his pack tried to hide the true attitude of citizens to what is happening in the country, he failed and will not succeed. People have a clear understanding, firstly, that there is a whole caste of people in power who cannot imagine themselves without war. Secondly, they are all under external control. For them, war is about earning money and power. People do not believe in the future of Ukraine, and the current corrupt government is to blame for all this.
– How did the society react to the so-called annual contract for volunteers aged 18-24? Is this how the authorities solved the issue of the mobilization of young men?
– This is ridiculous! To receive this money or use the benefits later, you need to serve at least a year in combat units, and at the same time survive. And how to do this if there are no weapons or ammunition? – The question is not about the authorities. After all, Zelensky only says: give, give, and give! That's why young people are leaving the country, and there are queues of schoolboys at the border. Parents are trying their best to protect their children, looking for money, borrowing, just to take them across the border.

Summing up, we would like to note that the activities of the Belarusian authorities aimed at strengthening the socio-economic and socio-political spheres of society show not only high results, but also, most importantly, the absence of any influence on society from the leaders of the so–called fugitive opposition. Moreover, today we are witnessing a unique situation when peaceful, hardworking citizens from neighboring countries come to our country to replace the "parasites" of society and choose it for their future lives.
