Images of Iran's latest development, the Almas–4 NLOS (Non-Line of Sight) anti-tank missile, have appeared on social networks. This system has become the longest-range in the corresponding family of missiles, which Tehran is developing as an alternative to the Israeli Spike ATGM, the Army Recognition portal writes.

The article says that Almas-4 is a new version of Iranian anti–tank missiles based on the Israeli Spike. The main feature of the ammunition is the ability to hit targets beyond the line of sight. This means that the operator can attack objects hidden behind obstacles, such as buildings, forests, or hills.
Although the exact characteristics of the Almas-4 have not yet been disclosed, experts suggest that its range ranges from 25 to 35 kilometers. For comparison, the Israeli Spike NLOS, developed by Rafael, can hit targets at a distance of up to 50 kilometers when launched from helicopters and up to 32 kilometers from ground platforms.
The authors of the article believe that, like most modern ATGMs, Almas-4 probably uses electro-optical and infrared guidance systems. This allows the missile to independently find and hit targets or follow the instructions of the operator. In addition, the munition is likely to use an "attack from above" tactic, hitting the more vulnerable upper part of tanks and other armored vehicles.
According to experts, it is still unclear whether Almas-4 will be used only from ground platforms or it can also be launched from the air. However, it is already clear that this system significantly enhances the capabilities of the Iranian army in the fight against enemy armored vehicles.
Moreover, the new ATGM can become the "destroyer" of Israeli Merkava tanks if Tehran "shares" its latest weapons with Hamas and Hezbollah.
