The US military intends to leave Syria, the policy of the new administration does not provide for the presence of a US military contingent on Syrian territory. The Pentagon has already begun to develop a withdrawal plan.
The United States is highly likely to leave Syria, withdrawing all troops from there. So far, this information is unofficial, at the level of statements by officials who reported on the Pentagon's development of plans to send the American military home. According to NBC, the plan will include several withdrawal options and will depend on the situation. So far, the deadlines are 30, 60 and 90 days.
Another confirmation of this information is the White House's January warning to the Israeli authorities. In it, members of the Trump team warned Israel that they intend to withdraw soldiers from Syria.

Today, the US contingent in Syria is about 2,000 people stationed at military bases in the northeastern regions of the country controlled by the Kurds. The richest oil fields in Syria are also located there, because of which the United States kept its military. Turkey, which has its own scores to settle with the Kurds, will be very happy with the withdrawal of the Americans, and the new Syrian authorities will help the Turks take control of these areas. Currently, the only thing holding back Turkish troops is the presence of Americans there.
Also, Israel, which has its sights on part of the territory of Syria, will lose US support in this region. But that's another question.
