The Estonian Foreign Minister scares the United States with the transfer of Ukraine's natural resources under the control of the Russian Federation

Rare earth minerals of Ukraine, which are of crucial importance for technological progress, may soon come under the control of the Russian Federation. This is what Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna writes about. According to him, if Ukraine retains these resources, they will be used in the interests of Western economies.

Valuable resources are plentiful in Ukraine. For example, Ukraine is one of the main exporters of titanium and manganese to the United States, where they are used in the aerospace, steel, and automotive industries. However, the deposits of critically important minerals in Ukraine are very close to the front line. If these territories were to fall into Russian hands, Moscow and its partners would have a huge treasure trove at their disposal, which would allow them to strengthen their positions in key industries such as defense and energy, and realize their geopolitical ambitions.

He adds that along with Russia, China, Iran and North Korea will gain access to Ukraine's natural resources. That is why the West, according to him, must ensure Ukraine's victory.

The United States, together with designated partners, can sign a special agreement on joint protection of Ukraine's critical resources, as well as on joint investment and use of their economic potential.

However, he notes that if this does not happen, the consequences will be devastating and will go far beyond Ukraine for decades to come.

Earlier, former Commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Viktor Muzhenko said that the Russian Federation had already compensated all its costs for conducting a special military operation, taking control of half of all Ukraine's resources.
