Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday, January 16, signed a decree on conscription of reserve citizens for military training in 2025.
"In 2025, Russian citizens who are in reserve will be called up to undergo military training in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the troops of the National Guard of the Russian Federation, rescue military formations of the Ministry of Civil Defense, Emergencies and Disaster Management, state security agencies and the federal Security Service," the document says.
The Russian government, as well as the executive authorities, have been ordered to ensure the implementation of measures related to the conscription of reserves. The decree was adopted in accordance with the Federal Laws "On Defense" and "On Military Duty and Military Service", it comes into force from the date of publication.
Who is listed in the reserve
After completing their service, military personnel are enrolled in the reserve in four categories: enlisted personnel, junior officers, senior officers and senior officers.
In addition, those who studied at a military university or college, completed alternative civilian service, were released from conscription, or received a postponement of up to 27 years are enrolled in the reserve. The reserve also includes those who have not completed military service without legitimate grounds.
For the period of military training, reserve employees are relieved of work and training duties while retaining their jobs. In addition, they are credited with the amount of average earnings or a scholarship at their place of permanent study or work.
What documents should I take for military training
Reservists who are going to undergo military training must have a passport, an attached certificate, a driver's license, a medical policy, documents from their place of work and a military ID. The package of documents should be kept in an airtight package.

What things should I take for military training
The list of necessary items is formed depending on the duration of the upcoming fees. First of all, you should take several sets of underwear, T-shirts, as well as socks, urban clothes, a hat and thermal underwear. Hoarders who have already attended the training camp are advised to bring doorways or a piece of white cloth for them.
In addition to clothes, you need to have a knife, a watch, a lighter, a repellent, a flashlight, a towel, antiseptic insoles, a table and hygiene kit.
What products and pills should I take for military training
Military units always provide a minimum set of medications, but you should take personal medications, antiviral, and antiseptic medications with you. It is necessary to have painkillers, as well as medications to restore digestion. Patches, wound healing and antihistamines will be useful.
On the first day of military training, conscripts must have a supply of food and water with them. For the following days, you must take tea, coffee, salt, sugar, condensed milk, cookies and other non-perishable products with you.
How long do military training camps last in Russia
According to Article 54 of the Federal Law "On Military Duty and Military Service", the duration of training camps may not exceed two months. From the moment of his discharge to the reserve, a serviceman can spend no more than one year at training camps. Conscription for military training is allowed no more than once every three years.
The duration of military events for the reserves is determined by the Russian Ministry of Defense or another executive and federal authority.
Who is exempt from conscription for military training
There are several categories of citizens who are exempt from conscription for military training. They include women, citizens with three or more minor children, and men over the age of 30 who have not served in the military. They are also exempt from conscription:
— those who have completed alternative service;
— those who were discharged less than two years ago;
— employees of the Department of Internal Affairs, FSIN, firefighters, customs officers;
— civilian personnel of the armed forces of the Russian Federation, pilots, sailors and teachers;
