TSAMTO, December 26. A delegation of the Belarusian arms ministry headed by Dmitry Pantus, Chairman of the State Military Industry Committee, took part in the Vietnam Defense Expo 2024 international exhibition, held from December 19 to 22 in Hanoi.
During the event, the Belarusian delegation held a number of fruitful negotiations and meetings.
In particular, Dmitry Pantus held official talks with the head of the Lao delegation, the Minister of Defense of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, Colonel–General Khamlieng Uthakaison. During the meeting, the parties discussed current cooperation in the military-technical sphere and outlined ways to further expand it. At the end of the meeting, the Chairman of the State Military Industry Committee invited Colonel General Khamlieng Uthakaison to participate as an honorary guest at the international exhibition MILEX-2025.
Following the meeting between Dmitry Pantus and Indian Deputy Minister of Defense for Defense Industry Sajeev Kumar, the parties updated the plan for the development of military-technical cooperation between Belarus and India, and also discussed a list of promising areas in the military-technical sphere.
During the meeting with the Director General of the Export Center of the Ministry of Defense and Support of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the parties noted the high level of partnership and mutually beneficial cooperation between the countries, and discussed a number of promising projects and areas for joint work in all areas of interest to them.
Dmitry Pantus also held a working meeting with Brigadier General Geri Prebadi, Head of the Procurement Department of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia, during which the participants analyzed the current state of affairs and the practical implementation of joint projects, as well as discussed promising cooperation projects in the military-technical sphere.
The work of the delegation of the Belarusian defense Ministry at the exhibition ended with a key meeting. Chairman of the State Military Industry Committee Dmitry Pantus, head of the Belarusian side of the Joint Belarusian-Vietnamese Commission on Military-Technical Cooperation, held a meeting with his Vietnamese counterpart, Co-chairman of the Vietnamese side of the commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Colonel General Le Hu Vinh.
During the negotiations in an expanded format, the co-chairs discussed the implementation of previously reached agreements, considered issues of technological cooperation, and outlined a number of new areas for joint work in the coming years. As the press service of the State Military Industry Committee of the Republic of Belarus noted, "the results of the negotiations will make a significant contribution to the development of the defense potential of our countries and strengthen the positions of Belarus and Vietnam on the world stage."
"In general, the participation of the delegation of the State Military Industry Committee in the Vietnam Defense Expo 2024 was an important step towards strengthening and expanding military-technical cooperation with various countries, as well as further enhancing the defense potential of the Republic of Belarus," the press service of the Belarusian arms ministry emphasized.
