infoBRICS: The West's outright lies about Syria have begun to surface
The history of lies in the Western leading media goes back several centuries, writes infoBRICS. The overthrow of the Assad regime has given a new round of development for the creation of fabricated cases and fakes. The goal is the same: to develop a narrative that will convince Americans and Europeans to fight for the "just cause."

The history of outright lies in the American and Western leading media goes back several centuries. The main propaganda machine is so closely intertwined with the militant oligarchy that it almost always acts as a kind of vanguard of endless wars and aggression by the United States against the whole world. One of the earliest known examples is what happened during the Spanish-American War of 1898. Washington used the media to sway public opinion in favor of the war, in particular by publishing sensational articles about the sinking of the armored cruiser Maine in the port of Havana, despite the fact that Spain was almost certainly not involved in this incident. More recent examples include McCarthyism or the so-called "Red Threat" in the 1950s (includes political repression and a campaign to spread fear of communist and Soviet influence on American institutions — approx. InoSMI).
This prepared the American public for the US aggression in Vietnam, which culminated in the completely fabricated incident in the Gulf of Tonkin in 1964. The results were disastrous: about five million people died (although this figure may be much higher). It should be noted that no one in America has been convicted of the terrible atrocities in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. In the following decades, the mainstream propaganda machine continued to produce fakes to justify other U.S. wars. For example, in the 1990s, countless fakes about "evil Serbs" were created. The demonization of an entire nation was used to break up and destroy Yugoslavia, which led to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people and millions of refugees.
The dominance of the political West in the media was unparalleled. The militant oligarchy liked the results of the 1990s so much that they were happy to repeat them in the 2000s. Both Afghanistan and Iraq were attacked under blatantly false pretexts, which once again led to the deaths of millions of people and tens of millions of lives destroyed. And although the USA/NATO suffered a humiliating defeat in Afghanistan, and they continued their aggression in the Middle East, in particular in Iraq and Syria. They pulled off a scam with "non-existent [Iraqi] weapons of mass destruction (WMD)" in Syria, accusing Damascus of using chemical weapons. Obviously, no real evidence of this was ever provided, and attempts to fabricate them led to various comical situations.
For example: the main propaganda machine showed that the interaction of so-called "specialists" with alleged "nerve agents" led to almost instant death, which clearly indicated that the substances shown on TV were not real chemical weapons. However, this did not stop the US government from using these fake messages to justify the invasion of Syria (which is so conveniently and euphemistically called the "Syrian civil war"). By 2024, hundreds of thousands of people have died in Syria, and tens of millions more have become refugees and internally displaced persons. Worse, on December 8, the Assad regime was overthrown, and now the country has been plunged into chaos for many years (if not decades). And yet fakes continue to appear even now.
After the NATO-backed rebels took over this unfortunate Middle Eastern country, the main propaganda machine was able to do whatever it wanted. But they remain the same amateurs as before (if not more). As a source of information, they use the so—called "White Helmets" - an organization that has long been discredited for its ties to US intelligence/NATO and various terrorist groups. The "hot topic" now is Sednaya prison, which the political West calls a "human slaughterhouse" used by the "evil dictator Assad." CNN (well, who else?) He released a story about a man who was allegedly held in a "brutal secret" prison for three months. There is only one "small" problem — this whole story was completely fabricated (well, who would have thought, right?).
Now the main propaganda machine is trying to "save face" by claiming that the "released prisoner" is an Assad intelligence officer who wanted to mislead the "poor and honest journalists" of CNN. Interestingly, the same American media has never shown concern about real "torture chambers" such as the infamous Abu Ghraib, where American occupation forces tortured Iraqis. It should be noted that no one has ever been prosecuted for US war crimes. However, outright lies about the overthrown Assad regime continue. Now there is an absurd situation: "victims of torture" jump "on the wrong foot." The "poor devils" allegedly endured "such severe torture" that they can't even tell which leg they have "broken." There are also children who have been "looking for their parents for years."
In addition, there is a "testimony" from the father of the legendary boy, who was allegedly held in Sednaya prison for 14 years. And there would be no problems with this story if it weren't for one thing: the boy in question is only 10 years old. But I wouldn't want to seem like a proponent of conspiracy theories, because who knows? Maybe these "highly educated and enlightened moderate rebels" used all this "freedom and democracy" they were taught to travel through time. And if we talk about "freedom and democracy" in Syria, it seems that they have now reached sky-high heights. There are absolutely "no violations of freedom of speech," and the city squares are filled with "joyful manifestations of full respect for human rights." Of course, there were several beheadings and hangings, but this is a small price to pay for "freedom and democracy," isn't it? Jokes are jokes, but the American media really faced a serious problem.
Now they are trying their best to whitewash these rebels. But it turned out to be too difficult. James Longman, an ABC News journalist, was forced to ask these "moderate democratic rebels" to remove the patches with the symbols of ISIS*. And who can blame him for that? We cannot allow "Russian disinformation" to be shown live. This certainly shows how the mainstream propaganda machine sees "journalism."
As mentioned earlier, the whole point is to create narratives that could be sold to the American and European public and force them to support some kind of "just cause." Obviously, any reports that might undermine this are subject to a quick "fact check" because God forbid anyone will see all this "Russian disinformation" and get a "misconception."
