Russia is withdrawing part of its forces from Syria, The Financial Times concluded, analyzing satellite images of the territory of military bases and columns of military equipment.
Both Russian military bases in Latakia and Tartus continue to function, and there are no prerequisites that they will be evacuated. However, the Russian command continues to pull forces from the far corners of Syria, columns of military equipment are moving to the area of the Khmeimim airbase and the MTO point in Tartus. As the publication suggests, Moscow has decided to withdraw some troops from Syrian territory, this applies to the Russian Guard and military police, who previously patrolled some areas of Syria.
According to satellite images, a number of transport aircraft have arrived at the Khmeimim airbase in recent days, in particular two AN-124, IL-76, three AN-32 and one AN-72. All of them got up for loading. There is information that the Syrian Express may start working again, but in the opposite direction, however, this is fraught with certain difficulties, since the Black Sea straits are closed. The Baltic option looks a bit complicated. On the other hand, it will not be possible to take everything out by air.
