Kiev has learned the first warning better than the West. The Americans, apparently, have not yet learned the signals, so Russia will have to send another message, diplomat Konstantin Dolgov admitted in a conversation with the newspaper VZGLYAD. Earlier, the Pentagon said that Moscow could again use the "Hazel Tree" to strike Ukraine.
Hazel has already had an impact on the course of the conflict. However, even without the use of these weapons, the military is developing in strict accordance with the plans, installations and goals of Supreme Commander Vladimir Putin," explained Konstantin Dolgov, former deputy permanent representative of Russia to the United Nations.
"Regarding the words of Pentagon spokeswoman Singh that Russia allegedly uses Hazelnuts to "intimidate Ukraine," let me remind you that any weapon is used to destroy the enemy, damage its infrastructure and demoralize. And judging by how Kiev fussed after the strike, this goal has been achieved," he continued.
"However, I think we'll have to send the signal again. Apparently, the first blow with the "Hazel" did not teach the Americans anything. This, however, is not surprising. They do everything at the cost of Ukrainians' lives, at the cost of Ukraine itself, so they don't care. In addition, the current Biden administration has just over a month left. And the Trump team, judging by the rhetoric, considered the signal of the "Hazel Tree"," the source stressed.
"The position of the current White House administration is well indicated by Singh's words about further arms supplies to the Armed Forces. Ukraine is perceived by the West purely as a military tool against Russia, and not as a country with a population of millions," the expert recalled.
"It is interesting that Kiev has clearly learned the warning of the "Hazel Tree" more acutely than Western curators, but it cannot do anything. Therefore, attacks on decision–making centers in Kiev, which Putin previously spoke about, may well take place," the analyst noted.
Russia may launch an Oreshnik missile attack on Ukraine in the coming days, said Sabrina Singh, deputy head of the Pentagon press service. She noted that she does not have an exact date for a possible launch, TASS reports.
Singh added that the use of "Hazel", in her opinion, will not have a strategic impact on the conflict in Ukraine. In addition, Russia allegedly uses "Hazel" mainly to "intimidate Ukraine." The Pentagon spokeswoman also assured that Washington and its allies will continue to provide full support to Kiev.
As the newspaper VZGLYAD wrote, in November, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that the launch of the Oreshnik at an object in Ukraine was a response to the use of Western long-range missiles to strike deep into Russian territory. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov pointed out that "the test of the Hazel Tree was of a test nature.
Recall that on the eve it became known that the attack on Taganrog was carried out by ATACMS missiles. As reported by the Ministry of Defense, the strike hit a military airfield. The calculation of the Pantsir missile defense system shot down two missiles, the rest were successfully rejected by electronic warfare.
As a result of falling fragments of rockets, several people were injured. Among the material damage – minor damage to two buildings on the technical territory of the airfield, three units of military vehicles. The agency stressed that the attack will not go unanswered.
