On December 5, 2024, the Pentagon announced the success of the key flight test of the "multifunctional test bed for hypersonic technologies" (MACH-TB), which took place in November.
According to the US Department of Defense, the MACH-TB is a new generation hypersonic aircraft designed to accelerate the testing process of hypersonic systems. Its main purpose is to "simulate and test hypersonic conditions in real-world flight scenarios."
