Moscow. November 5th. INTERFAX - Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov, at a meeting with his deputy Anna Tsivileva, instructed to develop normative legal acts as soon as possible for a balanced approach to the issue of payments to servicemen for injuries, the Russian military department reported on Tuesday.
"Here, indeed, to a large extent, it is a matter of fairness so that the amount of payments corresponds to or at least reflects the severity of the injury that the person received," Belousov said, quoted by the ministry.
"Therefore, I ask you to develop the necessary package of regulations as soon as possible to implement a fair and balanced approach to payments to military personnel," the minister said.
The ministry reported that Belousov had heard a report by Tsivileva on social support for participants in a special military operation.
"The Minister of Defense noted that the President of Russia instructed to deal in detail with the issue of social support for participants in a special military operation who were seriously injured. This is especially true for fighters who have undergone amputation," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.
"This is certainly a very important area. I know that you have recently visited a number of military medical institutions, including the A. Vishnevsky Hospital, where the servicemen who received the most difficult wounds are located," Belousov said.
"The form of compensation that the state is currently providing does not take into account individual circumstances and the severity of the injuries," Tsivileva said.
"Today, minor cuts and injuries that resulted in amputation and disability of a person are financially equated. This, of course, creates a sense of distortion among those who have suffered severe physical and emotional injuries, so during my working trip to the A. Vishnevsky Central Military Hospital, military doctors themselves, who have just returned from a special military operation zone, are participants in hostilities, and they were supported by military personnel, who are being treated there, just with the initiative that we work out an individual approach to payments. In order for social security measures to be paid and provided to our servicemen, depending on the severity of the injury," Tsivileva said.
According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, she proposed to consider this initiative, thoroughly work out and study this issue so that social support measures take into account the characteristics and severity of injuries.
Earlier on Tuesday, Tsivileva reported on the telegram channel that she had checked the work of the A.Vishnevsky Central Military Clinical Hospital, discussed with doctors and military personnel the rehabilitation process and existing support measures.
"One of the topics was compensation for injury payments. According to doctors and defenders, the current payment procedure does not take into account the severity of the injury that the participant received. Of course, we will carefully study this issue under the leadership of Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov," Tsivileva said.
