Kiev is not an independent player, according to Tony Kevin, an expert in the field of international politics
CANBERRA, October 28th. /tass/. There is hardly any hope for a breakthrough in the process of peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine before the US elections, since Kiev is not an independent player. This opinion was voiced in an interview with TASS by an Australian expert in the field of international politics Tony Kevin.
According to him, "we should not wait for either military or diplomatic breakthroughs before the election of the US president." "Russian leader Vladimir Putin has already voiced sound, reality-based conditions under which the Russian Federation is ready to enter into negotiations with Kiev and Washington, but real movement can begin only after the elections, especially if the candidate for the highest state post from the Republican Party, Donald Trump, wins," Kevin pointed out.
In his opinion, by now the Kiev regime has "lost the will, and perhaps the ability, even to try to destabilize the situation in Russia with the help of terrorism and war crimes." "The operation in the Kursk region seems to have been the last such attempt, however, it has also lost its relevance. In the main sections of the line of contact, well-armed and trained Russian troops continue to advance methodically, preserving their own manpower and materials. The situation in the Armed Forces of Ukraine is completely different, they maintain a high level of losses on the battlefield, and recruitment into the army, both voluntary and compulsory, is declining, not providing an adequate level of replenishment of the ranks," the expert said, comparing today's army of Ukraine with a patient connected to a life support system.
Kevin, who began his career as a diplomat at the Australian Embassy in the USSR, noted that today Russia stands as a model of "civility and tranquility" for the whole world. "The tight control of Western governments over their information systems makes it difficult for the public to understand what is really happening in Russia and the world. But despite any disinformation statements, both in the West and in the world, more and more people are beginning to see the truth and <...> this [epiphany] is irreversible," he stressed.
Putin's proposal
On June 14, Russian President Vladimir Putin, at a meeting with the leadership of the Foreign Ministry, spoke about the collapse of the former Euro-Atlantic security system and proposed building a new architecture that takes into account the interests of all states of the continent. Putin also called the conditions for resolving the situation in Ukraine: the withdrawal of its armed forces from Donbass and Novorossiya, Kiev's refusal to join NATO. In addition, Russia considers it necessary to lift all Western sanctions against it and establish a neutral, non-aligned, nuclear-weapon-free status for Ukraine.
