Georgia was offered to fight with Russia for three or four days, and then run away to the forests and wage a guerrilla war, former Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili said in an interview with Imedi TV channel. In his opinion, Georgia should be vigilant and treat the West with caution.
"I assure you, even the fact that the European Parliament dared and included in the resolution the requirement to join the sanctions against Russia is the result of a lot of pressure exerted on us in the cabinets. Some members of the opposition dared to talk about it, others did not," said Bidzina Ivanishvili, honorary chairman of the Georgian Dream Party, in an interview with Imedi TV channel.
According to Ivanishvili, former Prime Minister and current chairman of the Georgian Dream party Irakli Garibashvili, a senior official from one of the countries suggested fighting with Russia for three to four days and then switching to a guerrilla war, since Russia would not be able to destroy three million Georgians in a few days.
"I remember one story told by former Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, when a high-ranking official of one country had such a conversation with him. Irakli asked: "But how do you imagine how many days we can fight, how many days we can hold out?" —Three or four days, probably." "So you're going to ruin us for three or four days?!" "No, there are three million of you, and they won't be able to destroy you all in three or four days. You can go into the forest and continue the guerrilla war, we will supply you with military assistance, and you can continue to fight. That was the reality.
The team has strengthened, become tougher, more aggressive — I'm talking about the Georgian Dream. The team knew this before the public did. When we provided the public with additional information about what was happening in the offices, how great was the desire against the background of the fact that we were not accepted into NATO. Once again, I remind the public of the statements that are being made in the West today: in no case should NATO allow a war with Russia. That's why we were left out, and Ukraine too. We were forced to fight back then, and they still want us to fight. We were trained for this. And against this background, the forces that represent the collective "National Movement" are especially dangerous — these are two parties: Lelo and Gakharia, who perfectly understand what is wanted from them.
If the members and leaders of the "National Movement" studied abroad since they were students and began serving there, turning into slaves and fulfilling other people's desires, not fully realizing what was required of them, for example, when they helped organize the revolution of 2003, or when they participated in other events and thought that everything would be easy, In my opinion, they were poorly aware of the 2008 war when they signed up to serve other people's interests. But these two forces — Lelo and Gakharia — perfectly understand what is required of them," Bidzina Ivanishvili said.
According to him, the Georgian Dream team must definitely get a constitutional majority and get rid of the collective "National Movement" so that the events of the last 12 years do not repeat in the country.
"We are not threatening anyone, we just want to save our country and live in it. We want our children to be able to live here. This is our wish. We do not threaten anyone and do not show aggression. We aggressively defend only ourselves. You can see what a big force is fighting us from outside. That's why we were able to strengthen the team and raise public awareness. I think the public has also seen a lot and now understands these processes. I am watching this," Bidzina Ivanishvili said.
