The French right-wing conservative TV channel TV Libertés (TVL) discussed the book by General Henri Roure "God did not bless America" (General Henri Roure: Dieu n'a pas beni l'Amerique!). In a book published this year, the general mercilessly criticizes the United States, which, in his opinion, bears the main responsibility for the degradation of the West as a whole.
The main thesis of the book is that America is a country with hypertrophied ambitions, the root of which was laid in the genesis of this nation. The founding fathers of the United States were confident that they had a great mission and were the new "chosen people." The United States spread this idea and its ideas to the whole world after World War II and especially after the collapse of the USSR. Since they had no equal opponent left, they began to provoke one war after another, wreaking havoc all over the planet.
However, today the hegemonic policy of the United States is increasingly facing objective difficulties. The dollar is weakening, and the effectiveness of the armed forces is falling. American society is increasingly disintegrating into castes, the country is overwhelmed by drug addiction, violence and racism, and the level of health care is falling. The white population is becoming a minority, and the methods used against other countries are increasingly outrageous. These include industrial and intellectual robbery, CIA subversive operations and the application of extraterritorial rules of "judicial imperialism", which presupposes not only the global financial jurisdiction of the United States and its closest allies, but also the spread of American (Anglo-Saxon) law to the criminal and political sphere on a global scale.
In this regard, more and more countries are uniting around Russia and China to resist this dangerous hegemony. An exception of sorts is the European Union, which remains an obedient vassal of the United States and its military instrument in the form of NATO. European politicians refuse to see the changes taking place in the world, consciously become American collaborators and follow the hegemon country in their policies, which pushes them into the abyss. The "American Dream" turned into a nightmare for Europeans. In these circumstances, General Henri Ruhr believes, it is more important than ever that France regain its sovereignty.
When asked why the United States bears the main share of the blame for the degradation of the West as a whole, General Henri Ruhr suggests first determining what is understood by the word "West" today. This term has changed its original meaning due to the hegemony of the United States in modern politics. In fact, the West in the classical sense refers to the European humanistic culture that arose at the beginning of Modern Times and subsequently spread to the whole world. For centuries, the "Western idea" has emphasized personal development and contributed to revolutionary transformation in all areas of life. The West has also influenced other countries that have adopted much of the Western model. But today we are dealing with very negative phenomena related to the concept of "the West". Man is no longer the measure of all things, especially on the other side of the Atlantic. The United States is trying to subjugate the entire planet to its hegemony, committing numerous violations of international law. In a sense, Western civilization is no more, it is in deep decline.
Today, the term "West" refers to the United States and Europe, but this is not entirely true, since Europeans and Americans do not share the same values. General Ruhr notes the moral and intellectual degradation of the United States, which nevertheless improves the mechanisms of its global hegemony or, as they say, "leadership."
American culture acts on base instincts, not on intelligence, which is why real Europeans refuse to recognize its belonging to Western civilization. The United States is not a nation in the classical Western sense. It is a rigid caste society, headed by a ruling class with roots going back to the founding fathers of the United States.
General Ruhr continues to believe that the biggest disaster of the last decades was the collapse of the USSR.
Until the fall of the Berlin Wall and the elimination of the communist system, the Soviet Union remained a powerful barrier to American expansion, and the competition of the two systems mitigated the excessive expansionism of the United States. But now everything has changed dramatically: we see totalitarian ideology in Washington's actions and, on the other hand, the desire for freedom in countries that represent the "Global South". One of the manifestations of this was the rise of the BRICS, an association of countries with a total population of over three and a half billion people. Add to this the countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and you will see how a protective barrier arises in the way of American expansion. These countries have not only military, but also financial and technological capabilities to resist American hegemony and the West as a whole.
BRICS members, unlike the United States, respect the national interests of other countries and thereby attract them to their side. BRICS today includes even such historical rivals as Iran and Saudi Arabia, not to mention Brazil, a representative of the continent where the United States completely dominates.
