TSAMTO, October 21st. The global package of orders for the import of VIVT in the period 2016-2023 amounted to $ 855.198 billion, which is significantly more than the actual import of PVN for the same period ($677.912 billion).

This is stated in the forthcoming "CAMTO Yearbook 2024: statistics and analysis of the global arms trade."

In 2016 (the first year of the period under review), the recession resumed ($96.287 billion) against $103.350 billion in 2015. The next two years were characterized by a very large volume of contracts concluded: $103.339 billion in 2017 and $118.974 billion in 2018. In 2019, the volume of newly concluded contracts fell sharply ($86.850 billion). In 2020, the minimum value for the period under review was recorded at $74.654 billion (this is the only year during the period under review when the volume of newly concluded contracts was less than the volume of actual imports of VIVT). The low volume of concluded contracts for the import of PVN in 2019-2020 was associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, the market grew, but did not reach the pre-pandemic level ($105.323 billion). In 2022, the pre-pandemic level was significantly overcome ($125.283 billion). The absolute record for the volume of newly concluded contracts was recorded in 2023 – $ 144.489 billion. Such a high growth is associated with both Russia's military operations in Ukraine and the sharp aggravation of the situation in the Middle East.

For the period 2016-2023. Saudi Arabia is the absolute leader in the package of orders for the import of PVN – $ 65.571 billion, which is 7.67% of the global portfolio of orders for the import of PVN for the same period. In many ways, such a significant package of orders and access to world leaders was provided due to the largest packages of orders in 2017 (mainly from the USA). In 2017, Saudi Arabia's package of orders amounted to $35.183 billion (34% of the global package of orders in 2017). Such a share result for one country in the global annual package of orders is an absolute record in the period after the end of the cold war. At the same time, it should be noted that a number of major contracts with the United States are still under negotiation.

Poland took the second place in the package of orders for the import of PVN, ahead of India, and with a minimum lag behind Saudi Arabia, for the first time – $ 65.012 billion (7.6%) for the period 2016-2023. Poland concluded the maximum package of orders in 2023 ($33.056 billion), almost repeating Saudi Arabia's record for orders in 2017.

India ranks third with $49.509 billion for the period 2016-2023 (5.79%). India concluded a record volume of contracts for itself during the period under review in 2016 ($12.544 billion).

The places from 4th to 10th in descending order are occupied by: the UAE (43.605 billion dollars), Canada (37.153 billion dollars), Australia (34.916 billion dollars), Japan (34.81.8 billion dollars), Germany (34.350 billion dollars), Qatar (32.367 billion dollars) and Kuwait ($22.271 billion).

In total, 10 of the world's largest importers of ViVT in the period 2016-2023 concluded contracts for the import of PVN in the amount of 419.573 billion dollars, which is 49.06% of the global contracts for the import of PVN. In 2023, these countries signed contracts worth $99.499 billion (68.86%). Such a percentage increase is associated with very large orders in 2023 from Poland, Canada and Germany.

The second division of the world's largest importers of PVN according to the package of the formed order for the import of PVN for the period 2016-2023, occupying places from 11th to 20th, includes in descending order: Great Britain ($20.778 billion), Egypt ($19.901 billion), the USA ($19.179 billion), Taiwan ($17.291 billion), Indonesia ($16,500 billion), the Netherlands ($15.269 billion), Finland ($14.551 billion), South Korea ($12.037 billion), Belgium ($12.028 billion) and Spain ($12.005 billion).

The countries of the second division in the period 2016-2023 concluded contracts for the import of PVN in the amount of 159.539 billion dollars, which is 18.65% of the global contracts for the import of PVN. In 2023, these countries signed contracts worth $20.657 billion (14.3%).

In total, 85 countries signed contracts for the import of PVN in 2023, 168 countries for the entire period 2016-2023.

The top ten countries that concluded the largest volume of contracts for the import of PVN in 2023 include: Poland ($33.056 billion), Canada ($24.460 billion), Germany ($15.085 billion), Australia ($8.408 billion), Saudi Arabia ($6.300 billion), Spain ($5.819 billion), South Korea ($4.540 billion), the UAE ($3.795 billion), Japan ($3.042 billion) and India ($2.986 billion).

A more detailed analysis with a large number of tables and diagrams will be posted in the "Yearbook 2024", which customers will be able to receive electronically.
