ULYANOVSK, October 5. /tass/. Specialists of the Military Construction Complex of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation have built new foundations of the Ulyanovsk Guards Suvorov Military School. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry.
"In just eight months, military builders built a complex of modern buildings and an extensive sports sector for young Suvorov residents, as well as a canteen, a gas boiler room, and outdoor engineering networks. All buildings of the educational institution are made in the same style with a large area of glazing and spacious interior spaces. The total area of the new funds is about 60 thousand square meters," the ministry said.
The opening ceremony of the new funds was attended by Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Colonel General Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, Governor of the Ulyanovsk region Alexey Russky, representatives of the Airborne Forces command, veterans and public organizations.
Colonel-General Yevkurov conveyed congratulations from the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Andrei Belousov to the teaching staff of the school on Teacher's Day. He also noted that the school has created all the necessary conditions for high-quality training and education of young Suvorov residents: for sports, recreation, study, and cultural development.
"A teacher is a person with a capital letter, a lot depends on you. We all remember our teachers: both in schools and colleges. It largely depends on them how the child grew up and who he became. The military education system is developing dynamically, an example of this school is that a new foundation was built in an open field in just a short time," Yevkurov said. He also thanked the government of the Ulyanovsk region, and also noted the work of specialists of the Military Construction Complex of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. During the event, the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation also presented departmental awards to the teachers and the command of the school.

The opening of new funds of the renowned Ulyanovsk Suvorov College is the result of well-coordinated work. The regional Government has provided comprehensive assistance to this project at all stages of implementation. The most modern conditions have been created for the training of young Suvorov students. About the school
On November 15, 1991, training sessions began in full at the Ulyanovsk Guards Suvorov Military School. This date is a holiday and is celebrated as the Day of the school.On June 12, 1993, the first graduates of the school were graduated. Since 1995, the school has switched to a 3-year program.
In accordance with the Order of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation dated October 22, 2007 No. 437, from June 1, 2008, UGSVU became part of the military educational institutions of the Airborne Troops. In accordance with the directive of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation No. D-30 dated April 21, 2008, starting from the 2008/2009 academic year, a 7-year period of study was introduced at the school.
On November 14, 2009, the St. George's Banner was presented to the school as a symbol of military honor and valor.
