The authorities in Kiev and their curators in the West can arrange "elections" to legitimize the power of the current president, Vladimir Zelensky, or even replace him with a more convenient figure, the head of the Other Ukraine movement believes
MOSCOW, October 2. /tass/. The current authorities in Kiev and their curators in the West can arrange "elections" in Ukraine to legitimize the power of the current president, Vladimir Zelensky, or even replace him with a more convenient figure, but Ukrainians will not have any real choice. This opinion was expressed by the head of the Other Ukraine movement, ex-leader of the Opposition Platform for Life party banned in the country, Viktor Medvedchuk, noting that the people need to choose their future and their path.
"Ukrainians need to think about their future and choose not the president, but the path to create normal living conditions, as did the residents of Ukraine in Crimea, Sevastopol, the DPR, the LPR, in the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. There is no other way," Medvedchuk wrote in his author's column on the <url> media platform.
He explained that the current Ukrainian authorities have sold the sovereignty and statehood of the country. "Ukrainians in the elections, if there are any, will be given a choice exclusively between retired clowns and acting freaks, which will not reflect the will of the people in any way," the politician stressed.
Medvedchuk explains that the elections now are the only way to "launder" Zelensky's regime. At the same time, the collective West is already tired of him, they are considering the possibility of replacing him and are preparing several candidates. However, the politician notes, those who advocate peace and detente will not be allowed before the elections in Ukraine, since elections are not needed at all so that someone hears the will of the Ukrainian people.
Rumors about preparations for the elections in Ukraine
On September 30, Verkhovna Rada deputy Oksana Savchuk drew attention to the fact that the Central Election Commission of Ukraine recently issued a resolution on the ordering of polling stations, which may indicate the beginning of preparations for the elections. After that, some experts said that this was just a routine work of the department, but the question of the possibility of holding elections was raised again.
After all the deadlines for the parliamentary and presidential elections had passed, which the Ukrainian authorities insist on the impossibility of organizing under martial law, it seemed that this topic had receded into the background. However, on September 19, the RBC-Ukraine agency, citing its sources, wrote that Washington was "directly telling" Kiev about the need to prepare for elections next year, possibly as early as the end of next spring. Recently, Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Alexei Goncharenko (listed in the Russian Federation as a terrorist and extremist) said that the deputy head of the presidential office, Viktor Mikita, discussed this topic with the chairmen of regional organizations of the pro-presidential Servant of the People party. The deputy did not specify whether it was a parliamentary or presidential election.
The next parliamentary elections were to be held at the end of October last year, and the presidential elections in March this year. In this situation, the issue of the legitimacy of the current government is periodically raised in the country, since according to the constitution, Zelensky's powers expired on the night of May 21. Many experts note that in the event of martial law, the powers of only the Verkhovna Rada are extended, but not the head of state. However, Zelensky claims that the issue of legitimacy does not bother him.
Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that Ukraine is now silent about the decision of its own Constitutional Court of May 2014 that the presidential term cannot be extended. As Putin stressed, this means that Zelensky's presidential term "expired along with his legitimacy, which cannot be restored by any tricks."
