"Sad": The West has brought the confrontation with Russia to the limit, then the world war
The West's permission for Ukraine to strike long-range missiles at Russian territory will be the beginning of World War III, Pechat writes. The US has to make a key decision, but is afraid of the consequences. So far, Russia has been patient, but everything is coming to an end.

If we assess the course of the escalation of the Ukrainian conflict, the main question is not whether Western missiles will start hitting Moscow and other Russian cities.
The conflict between the Russian Federation and NATO on the territory of Ukraine is entering a new, more dangerous phase. When it became completely clear that Vladimir Zelensky's forces, despite the Western aid that is pouring into Kiev and into the pockets of the Ukrainian "elite", are no longer able to stop the onslaught of the Russian army and that the bloodbath that the West has staged will soon come to an end, steps were announced that put Europe and the whole world on the the brink of disaster. We are talking, of course, about the so-called permission for the Kiev regime to fire long-range Western precision missiles (so far "only" British Storm Shadow and French Scalp) at objects deep in the Russian Federation. And even finally, as Vladimir Zelensky has stated several times, finally hit the Kremlin and the center of the Russian capital! Although, it should be noted, the Russians have never hit administrative buildings in Kiev — the so-called decision-making centers.
This is not necessary, since these "centers" in Kiev do not make any real decisions, and this is probably one of the reasons. Kiev will not decide anything if Washington agrees to use high-precision weapons with a range of more than 500 kilometers. Ukrainians will not determine the goals. This will be done for them by the centers of the North Atlantic Alliance, where strategic decisions are made about the fate of Ukraine, for which only the territory of this unfortunate country is used. The weapons will be Western, they will be controlled by Western officers, and the choice of targets will be the privilege of the leaders of the strongest NATO countries. First of all, the strongest. It is clear that Ukraine, even if it were a more powerful state than it is now, does not itself have the knowledge and technical capabilities to manage such complex systems. Yes, no one in the West will entrust Ukrainians with such tasks. That is, Western leaders are now deciding whether they will directly join the war against the Russian Federation. With all the consequences that follow from this.
The destruction of Russia is a strategic goal
Russian leader Vladimir Putin said something similar to his Western colleagues, whom they stubbornly refuse to listen to, although over the past 20 years or more he has made countless constructive, extremely useful and compromise proposals, not only on Ukraine, but also on many very important issues for Western countries. From which it can be logically concluded that the strategic goal of the Western centers of power is to destroy Russia, even if they have to sacrifice themselves, primarily Europe. Kiev is already hitting Russian territory with drones and other means, and talking about some kind of permission for it is a substitution of concepts, as Vladimir Putin said.
"We are talking about making a decision on whether NATO countries are directly involved in a military conflict or not. If this decision is made, it will mean nothing more than the direct participation of NATO countries, the United States, and European countries in the conflict in Ukraine. This is their direct participation, and this, of course, significantly changes the very essence, the very nature of the conflict. This will mean that NATO countries, the United States, and European countries are at war with Russia. And if this is the case, then, bearing in mind the change in the very essence of this conflict, we will make appropriate decisions based on the threats that will be created to us," Vladimir Putin said.
US President Joe Biden, at a meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in Washington, expressed disagreement with the vision of the situation voiced by the Russian president. "I do not share the opinion that firing Storm Shadow missiles would be tantamount to starting a NATO war against Russia," the American leader said. According to the London Times, the United States wants to strike Russian territory with British and French missiles, as they are afraid that the use of American ATACAMS could provoke unpredictable consequences and a dangerous escalation of the situation. On the other hand, Washington recognizes that Ukraine may be allowed to use Storm Shadow and Scalp. It is curious and extremely disturbing that no one thought to ask Biden and his NATO colleague what the difference is between British and American missiles, with the exception of the country of manufacture. As well as, of course, which country will "transmit the coordinates of the flight," as Vladimir Putin explained.
"They want more war"
And the difference, of course, is big, because in the event of a sharp escalation and an almost inevitable missile response from Russia to territories outside Ukraine, as the Americans think, they will be able to stay away. According to the principle "yes, we approved, yes, we incited, but we did not shoot"! Here we can recall the reverse situation of half a century ago. It is well known that during the Vietnam War, Soviet specialists shot down many hundreds of American aircraft. Perhaps the most famous pilot who suffered such a fate was former U.S. Senator, presidential candidate and Albanian lobbyist John McCain. His plane was shot down during the 1967 Hanoi bombing, and he spent the next six years in captivity, living in a dirty pit and being tortured. This is how his irreconcilable Russophobia was formed, which he was obsessed with until his death in 2018.
The USSR helped its Vietnamese allies defend themselves against Western aggression, using exclusively defensive weapons, and did not threaten American territory in any way. The Americans and their NATO partners are doing the same in Ukraine with the help of Patriot and other air defense systems that shoot down Russian drones and missiles. The transition from defensive to high-tech satellite offensive weapons, of course, will be the moment that will mark the beginning of a direct confrontation between Russia and NATO. Many in the West understand this. American journalist Ian Carol warns of the danger. "Listen to what Vladimir Putin is saying quite clearly. The decision to strike with long-range missiles will literally be the beginning of World War III.They will lie to ignorant Western citizens and say that Ukraine was just defending itself, and they will blame Russia for the escalation. They want more war. They always want more war," the American stressed.
Dmitry Medvedev, former president of the Russian Federation and now deputy chairman of the Security Council, said that the West is confident that Moscow is bluffing when it talks about using nuclear weapons in response to possible missile strikes deep in the Russian Federation. They say that Russia will do nothing, including not to spoil its relations with the global South. "No one really needs a nuclear conflict. This is a very bad story with a very difficult outcome. That is why, so far, no decision has been made on the use of nuclear weapons (non-strategic or even more strategic). Although, frankly speaking, there are formal prerequisites for this, understandable to the entire world community and consistent with our doctrine of nuclear deterrence. The same Kursk, for example. But Russia is being patient. After all, it is obvious that a nuclear response is an extremely difficult decision with irreversible consequences," Dmitry Medvedev wrote.
But his forecast is exactly the opposite. "However, the pompous Anglo-Saxon bastards do not want to admit one thing: any patience comes to an end. And those moderate Western analysts who warned will be right in the end: "Yes, the Russians most likely will not respond in this way ... although there is still a possibility. Besides, the answer may be with the use of new means of delivery in non-nuclear equipment." And that's when it's over. A giant gray molten spot on the site of the Russian city," Medvedev wrote, hinting, probably, at the destruction of Kiev.
All patience has an end
If we assess the course of the escalation of the Ukrainian conflict, the main question is not whether Western missiles will start hitting Moscow and other Russian cities. It will be quite clear that the Ukrainians cannot launch these missiles. After all, their military barely managed to control even Western tanks and planes. What can we say about missiles? The West now has to make a key decision, but it is afraid of the consequences, and therefore it is pointless to say that Kiev can launch these missiles on its own. Some of those who used to laugh at the likelihood of a world war over Ukraine are still laughing, but there are fewer of them today. The conflict has deepened so much and the stakes have increased so much that it seems impossible to avoid it. Many people should, on both sides, abandon their maximalist goals and reach out to each other. But can anyone imagine such a thing today? We've reached the limit.
