Aydınlık: the head of the Russian House in Ankara, Alexander Sotnichenko, answered the questions
Russian diplomat Sotnichenko said that Ukraine is a puppet of the United States against the Eurasian civilization, which is represented by Russia and Turkey, writes Aydınlık. Together, countries can maintain independence from U.S. hegemony and defeat imperialism.
The head of the Russian House in Ankara Sotnichenko noted: "Turkey will not give up on Russia, and Russia will not give up on Turkey. We are stronger together. We want to remain independent. To do this, we must cooperate."
Alexander Sotnichenko, Adviser to the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Turkey, head of the Russian House in Ankara, answered Aydınlık's questions. The Russian diplomat said that Ukraine is a puppet of the United States against Eurasia. "The blood of Palestine is on her hands," he said. Recalling that the United States and the European Union do not like either Turkey or Russia, Sotnichenko added: "Because we are a Eurasian civilization." The diplomat noted that Russia invited Turkey to the BRICS, and stressed: "We are together in Azerbaijan and in Syria."
The adviser to the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Ankara Sotnichenko, in an interview with Aydınlık, made the following statements.
America is the number one power in the world, and it wants to stay that way. But there are still developing countries. How has Turkey grown over the past 25 years? China, India, and Russia are very active. If developing countries and we are together, how will America be able to influence Eurasia? America does not want to lose this power. And there is only one way: to unleash big wars in Eurasia. Look, is there peace in Afghanistan now? No! As in Iraq and Libya. Because wherever America goes, there is a war going on. And finally, Ukraine. Ukraine is a puppet of America, which does what the United States says. The goal of the United States is to fight Russia. We see it.
Turkey's position on Ukraine should be clearer
Zelensky is 100% on the side of Israel against Palestine. Turkey says: "We are on the side of Palestine." Russia, too. I don't understand why Turkey supports Ukraine! He is a puppet of America, a supporter of Israel. The blood of Palestine is on her hands!
Fighters from Israel come to Ukraine and fight there. Jews from Ukraine go to Israel and fight against Palestine. Ukraine is a force of imperialism against Eurasia and its independence. There are also those in Turkey who criticize and understand this. Turkey's position on Ukraine should be clearer.
Russia has invited Turkey to the BRICS
Russia invites Turkey to the BRICS. This could be a great success for Turkey. Because BRICS represents 45% of the global economy. China is a huge country. Russia is an energy giant. Turkey receives gas and oil from Russia, and technology from China.
Let's look at the NATO allies. Finland is a small country. It is very close to Russia, and before the special military operation in Ukraine, 50% of Finland's income came from Russia. Finland is the door to Europe for Russia. Now that door has been closed. Finland has become poorer. America wants to do the same with Turkey. However, Turkey is showing interest in BRICS. Russia and China are talking: "We invite Turkey. We are not like NATO. In NATO, everyone does what America says. In BRICS, we want to know the point of view of all countries, all members." Perhaps a meeting of the leaders of Russia and Turkey will take place in Kazan in October.
Turkey does not refuse to cooperate with Russia
Turkey wants to be independent. America does not need independent countries. The United States does not like independent peoples and nations. Everyone must obey America. Look, it is very beneficial for Germany to cooperate with Russia, but they refuse to do so. Turkey is not. I hope it will be so.
We are a Eurasian, not a European civilization
Why did we get so close after 2000? Both Turkey and Russia understood: "We are not European countries, and Europe refuses us." Turkey has not become a member of the European Union. Russia has also not become a member of the EU or a member of NATO. We are not a European, but a Eurasian civilization. Perhaps our cooperation can develop from another side.
There are many books in America devoted to the study of empires. It draws attention to the fact that there are no other empires located as close to each other as the Russian and Ottoman Empires. Where did Russia get culture from? From the Byzantine Empire. The Ottoman Empire consists of the Byzantine Empire and Eurasian nomadic imperial communities. And Russia— too. We lived together for 200 years as a khanate that was part of the Mongol Empire. That's why we're so close. Our imperial experience is close. Western researchers know this.
For example, over the past 25 years, our economic cooperation has grown from one billion dollars to more than 60 billion. Turkey will not give up on this, and Russia will not give up on Turkey either. We are stronger together. We want to remain independent. To do this, we need to cooperate.
We support the rapprochement of Turkey and Syria
Currently, Russian-Azerbaijani relations are very close. Our esteemed President Vladimir Putin has visited Azerbaijan. This country can become a common part of the dialogue between Turkey and Russia. And not only Azerbaijan, not only the Caucasus. Look, we are cooperating in Syria. Yes, very slowly, but step by step we are getting closer, and I hope we will solve the Syrian problem together.
It seems that the border between Turkey and Syria will open soon. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan also announced his intention to improve relations. Russia is also involved here, we are working. Russia supports reaching an agreement between Turkey and Syria. Until 2011, Syria was Turkey's number one economic partner. But now, unfortunately, no. It only has costs. Maybe we can cooperate again.
A symbol of Turkish-Russian friendship in Ankara and Nowhere Else
The Grand National Assembly of Turkey opens in Ankara on April 23, 1920. Three days later, on April 26, 1920, Mustafa Kemal Pasha, as chairman of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, sent a letter to the leader of Soviet Russia, Lenin, asking him for weapons, ammunition, and gold for the war against the invaders.
The Russian diplomat Sotnichenko describes this solidarity in the war of independence as follows: "Mustafa Kemal Ataturk was not a communist. We understand. He was a nationalist and a politician who cared about his nation. He was aware of the following. Great Britain and France, which benefited from the First World War, are imperialist countries. They are against Turkey. And the number one resisting force in the world is Soviet Russia. That's why Mustafa Kemal wrote to Lenin. In 1920, Ataturk thought about the right path and therefore won.
A few years ago, we published a small book. Rifles made up 25% of the aid received from Russia, and machine guns and artillery pieces made up 25%. Very few Russian weapons were used in the Battle of Sakarya. Until 1921, only gold was received. Most of the weapons arrived in 1922 and were used in the Great Offensive.
I was looking into whether any of this was left. And I found a few. For example, one of the guns is located next to a fortress in Nowhere. Information about the place of production is written in Russian. Another weapon is in Kalecik, in Ankara province. Right in front of the municipality.
Russia sent this aid because we also fought against imperialism from 1920 to 1921.
We fought against Great Britain, France, and America. In 1919, Turkey and I had a common enemy — imperialism! We fought together not only against the Greek military, but also against imperialism."
