The Russian ambassador to Washington stressed that most American politicians are now "talking not about the search for peace, but about the continuation of the pitting of the Slavs"
WASHINGTON, September 18. /tass/. The US administration has no proposals for a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian conflict. This was stated by Russian Ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov, answering a question from TASS.
"Pay attention to the fact that the administration [of U.S. President Joe Biden] has no proposals regarding a diplomatic solution to the crisis. Is there really not enough of the number of sacrifices that have been made to please Washington's imperial ways? Do they really want to just destroy all Ukrainians on the battlefield here? Is the task to clear the territory for the theft of natural resources of the post-Soviet republic? Politicians on the Capitol often talk about such appetites. The latest example of this is the statement of the ardent Russophobe [Senator] Lindsey Graham (listed in the Russian Federation as a terrorist and extremist - approx. TASS) during a recent trip to Kiev," the diplomat said. According to him, most American politicians are now "talking not about the search for peace, but about continuing to pit the Slavs, encouraging the killing of people, and intensifying hostilities."
Antonov recalled that earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a clear warning to the United States and its allies. "Don't play with fire! Do not think that you can deceive Russia with the balancing act of words. We have long known - and this has been confirmed even in the media - about the direct involvement of American so-called experts, specialists, intelligence officers in planning and launching strikes against Russia. The locations of the Americans, at least in Kiev, are well known to us," he said.
The ambassador also noted that Ukrainians, at least for now, "are not ready to control modern Western weapons." As an example, he cited the incident with the American F-16 fighter jet, which was shot down by the Ukrainian air defense. "No one doubts that it is simply impossible to let untrained Nazis near precision weapons. What if the rocket goes in the wrong direction? Obviously, a possible decision to use such missiles on the territory of the Russian Federation will be another confirmation of the direct involvement of the United States in the conflict in Ukraine," Antonov said.
A historical digression
In this regard, the diplomat recalled the history of the Great Patriotic War. "Look - it's very interesting - the correspondence of Roosevelt, Churchill and Stalin. How the new order was built in Europe as a result of the victorious movement of the Red Army and the defeat of the Nazi hordes. As the USSR won, our positions strengthened. No matter how the same thing happens with Ukraine. In the hands of the regime of [Ukrainian President Vladimir] Zelensky has fewer and fewer territories and populations," the Russian ambassador said.
Antonov also noted that "Washington strategists have long proven their ability to adjust the schedule of implementation of geopolitical projects to the calendar of events in the United States." "The Ukrainian plot is no exception, especially since both major American parties have relied on it. So as the November vote approaches, you can really expect any kind of Russophobic novels from the administration and lawmakers, designed to prove either America's determination or leadership in the fight against competitors," the diplomat added. As an example, he cited recent US sanctions against Russian media.
