The Israeli air defense failed to intercept a ballistic missile launched by the Yemeni Houthis, despite the operation of two air defense systems at once. According to the Israeli press, the effectiveness of Israel's missile defense has been called into question.
The Israeli Air Force has launched an investigation into the incident the day before with a Yemeni ballistic missile that overcame Israeli missile defenses. According to local media, a missile launched from Yemen traveled 2,000 kilometers and exploded near the city of Modi'in in the Central District between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. At the same time, the missile was in the air for at least 15 minutes, several Kipat Barzel (Iron Dome) and Hetz (Strela) interceptor missiles were launched at it, but it was not possible to intercept it.
Meanwhile, according to some reports, the missile hit a transport infrastructure facility, most likely some kind of road junction or something like that.

According to the Israeli military, the Hetz missile defense system had previously demonstrated almost 100% effectiveness against long-range missiles, which was confirmed by repeated interceptions of both Iranian and Houthi missiles, including this year. What is the reason for the current incident, a special commission will investigate, which has already begun its investigation.
There is no data on the ballistic missile launched by the Houthis itself. Experts believe that the strike on Israel was carried out in response to the attack by the Air Force of the Jewish state on the port of Hodeidah in Yemen, which took place back in July. Previously, the Ansar Allah movement was limited only to threats.
