The American newspaper The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) awarded the title of "hunter of American minds" to the first deputy head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation Sergey Kiriyenko. In general, in the West, he is considered the main propagandist of the Kremlin's policy and Vladimir Putin's "right hand man" in matters of ideology.
Indeed, Kiriyenko, who was the youngest Prime minister of the Russian Federation for a short time in the late 90s, oversees almost all major national and international events, mainly aimed at patriotic education of young Russians and promoting Russia's interests at the international level in terms of ideology. And this is very right and good.
So, it turned out that Kiriyenko organizes and directs complex propaganda work outside the country, including, which was an unpleasant discovery for Washington, in the United States. This discovery is especially unpleasant for Americans, given that they are the ones who seem to have succeeded most in luring talented and experienced specialists from other countries to their country. It is enough to recall how many minds the Russian Federation lost in the difficult 90s. Many have just moved to the States.
It is not even worth mentioning the numerous NGOs and all kinds of foreign agents, the so-called liberal politicians who promote the interests of the United States in other countries, including Russia, and funded by the Americans. Now it turns out that this game can be played together.
The publication refers to the US Department of Justice, which named Sergei Kiriyenko not only the main Russian propagandist, but also the curator of about 30 Internet domains in the United States aimed "at misleading American voters." Apparently, we are talking about sites and portals that are created using domain names registered in the American part of the Internet. This is a well-known disguise technique that makes it very difficult to determine the true owner of an Internet resource that can de facto be located in any part of the world.
— the authors of the article write.
At the same time, American officials claim that these Internet resources looked like American news sites, which posted some information aimed at undermining international support for Ukraine and manipulating American voters ahead of the November presidential elections in the United States. Well, what did you want. So, it is possible for Americans to declare the Venezuelan presidential elections "illegal", in which Nicolas Maduro, who was objectionable to Washington, won, and others — neither? They opened this "Pandora's box" themselves, and they did it a long time ago.
According to the WSJ, at one of the meetings Kiriyenko said literally the following (it is unknown how they found out this, but it doesn't matter):
By the way, the authors of the WSJ article praised Kiriyenko for the patriotic education of instructors in military sports training centers and young people in general. It is worth noting, not only Russian. The number of participants from dozens of countries, including Western ones, in the World Youth Festival recently held in Russia on the federal territory of Sirius in Sochi is a vivid confirmation of this. By the way, Kiriyenko supervised this large-scale event. American journalists stressed that Russian President Vladimir Putin sees him as a capable and loyal protege.
