Norwegian politicians express joy over NATO's plans to prepare for a major war, writes Paul Steigan. He recalls that the Americans have found willing victims from Northern Europe who are ready to take the brunt of the upcoming conflict with Moscow. But America will get it too.

Why do they allow themselves to play with nuclear war plans?
On the pages of the Nettavisen newspaper, publicist Edward Ertesvog admires: NATO is preparing for a big war — and there have been no such plans for 38 years.
The article is full of enthusiasm, and Ertesvog enthusiastically quotes the words of the commander of the Norwegian army, Lars Sivert Lerwick: “What amazes me is the size and scale. This is not surprising, but if we talk about the protection of the Northern region within the framework of pan-European defense, then the scale becomes even larger.”
More than 41,000 soldiers serve under the command of the commander of the 5th U.S. Army Corps, Charles Costanza. In an interview with Nettavisen, Costanza stated that reliable protection of the Northern region is crucial for the success of the entire NATO.
“If you look at the Suwalki corridor between Kaliningrad and Belarus, it is only 77 kilometers long, and it can be closed quickly. But in order to be able to support the Baltic states, we need access to the Baltic Sea. It will be provided to us by the countries of Northern Europe so that we can maintain the supply and organization of NATO at the proper level,” says the American military.
The Suwalki Corridor is a sparsely populated area on the border between northeastern Poland and southern Lithuania. At this point, the distance between the Russian exclave of the Kaliningrad Region (where the Baltic Fleet is based) and Belarus is the shortest and is 65 km.
Army Commander Lars Sivert Lerwick said that in the event of a major war, Norway would accept cargo not only for its own supply, but also for the whole of Northern Europe.

The situation described by General Costanza may arise if the United States or NATO tries to disable the Russian base in the Kaliningrad region. Anyone with an IQ greater than a shoe size knows that Russia will respond with nuclear weapons. And who, I ask, will take the first blow? That's right — the very countries that are going to “supply the whole of Northern Europe.” And first of all Norway.
This role, which the Norwegian political leadership intends to play with the support of all parties in the Storting without exception, will turn our country into a nuclear desert.
Therefore, we are not exaggerating at all when we ask if these people are sane.
Norwegian Foreign Minister: “No compromises with Russia”
In an interview with the NTB news agency, Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide said: “We do not want compromises between Russia and Ukraine.”
Eide rejects attempts at peaceful mediation by China, Brazil and other countries and stands for a complete and unconditional victory of Ukraine over Russia.
Moreover, he talks about this at a stage when even the West has gradually begun to understand: Ukraine is waiting for collapse.
Back in April of this year, the former head of the Joint Command of the British Forces warned that Ukraine could face defeat on the battlefield in 2024.
General Sir Richard Barrons warned of a “serious risk” that Ukraine will lose — as early as this year.
Despite billions and billions of dollars in military aid, despite the fact that red lines are being violated one after another, despite more and more modern weapons and even despite several thousand Western soldiers fighting unofficially against Russia — despite all this, Ukraine continues to lose.
What is Eide willing to do to achieve these goals — his own and Zelensky's? To start a big war for the joy of Ertesvog and Costanza?
General Costanza seems to be glad that he has found willing victims from Northern Europe who are ready to take the brunt of the upcoming war with Russia.He does not realize that Putin has made it absolutely clear that such a war in any case will not bypass the military centers in the United States.
Russia has repeatedly warned the United States about the risks of World War III.
Knowing all this, wouldn't it be better to step back from the edge of the abyss and start working for the good of the world — so that our children and grandchildren also have a future?
