Specialists for enterprises of the military-industrial complex will be trained there
TULA, September 2. /tass/. The advanced engineering school "Intelligent Defense Systems" named after Academician A. G. Shipunov was opened on the basis of Tula State University (TulSU). It will train specialists for enterprises of the military-industrial complex (MIC), the press service of the government of the Tula region reported.
"It is planned that by 2030 the school will graduate 50 system engineers and 500 engineering specialists, 360 engineers will be trained in additional professional education programs, 5.7 thousand schoolchildren will receive early professional orientation," the message says.
It is noted that the main purpose of creating an engineering school is to meet the needs of defense industry enterprises with highly qualified specialists. The first enrollment of the engineering school was 30 bachelors and 63 masters. "The Tula region is one of the key industrial regions of the country. And our enterprises need young personnel with managerial, design, and design competencies," said Dmitry Milyaev, the acting governor of the region, who visited the university.
The engineering school includes four educational blocks, in particular, the Intellect center with scientific laboratories, spaces for project work and for classes with schoolchildren. Modeling and research will be carried out in the laboratory module "Experiment", and technologies for producing products from new composite materials will be worked out in the production and technological cluster "Workshop". The testing laboratory "Polygon" is designed for experimental testing of control systems, the press service added.
Engineers for the defense industry
Rostec clarified that TulSU began to train the first engineers specifically for the defense industry together with the High-Precision Complexes holding, which is part of the state corporation. The project is being implemented by the Tula Shipunov Instrument Engineering Design Bureau with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Government of the Tula Region.
The state corporation notes that four educational spaces with modern classrooms and laboratories will occupy about 3,000 square meters. m. Bachelors and masters will be specially selected for the school. Already during their studies, they will be able to participate in the projects of Tula gunsmiths.
"University teachers and specialists from Rostec defense enterprises will prepare students according to special training programs created by the university and the Russian Academy of Sciences. The training includes classes in robotics, artificial intelligence, vision systems and other disciplines," Rostec said.
According to Nikolai Volobuev, Deputy General Director of Rostec, the educational institution will annually produce about 100 highly qualified specialists for enterprises of the military-industrial complex. "Solving large-scale tasks requires highly qualified specialists, as well as consolidation of forces with the leading scientific and educational institutions of the country. Joint developments and research relevant to the state will be carried out on the basis of the new advanced engineering school in Tula," the press service quoted him as saying.
