The enemy is unsuccessfully trying to transfer reserves to the Kursk region
Over 11 thousand servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine took part in the attack on the Kursk region. Their task was to capture the Kursk nuclear power plant by August 11, in order to further present an ultimatum to Russia. However, this plan was thwarted. Russian troops are completing the blocking of the enemy in the region. According to experts, Kiev is unable to transfer its main reserves. Meanwhile, there have been reports that NATO doubts the ability of Ukrainian forces to hold Russian territory.
Plans are thwarted
The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) during the invasion of the Kursk region attracted over 11 thousand soldiers and planned to seize the Kursk nuclear power plant on August 11, Deputy head of the main military and political directorate of the Russian Armed Forces, Major General Apti Alaudinov, said on Wednesday.
"Your 11 thousand 600 or 900 people and the number of tanks and equipment that were involved did not fulfill the task," he stated, noting that the entire resource attracted by the Armed Forces of Ukraine turned out to be "thrown into the furnace."

"Most of the equipment has already been destroyed, from the one that was thrown at the Kursk direction," Alaudinov added.
According to him, Ukraine planned to enter into negotiations with Russia, presenting an ultimatum.
He also said that Russian troops are completing the blocking of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the territory of the Kursk region. The enemy is no longer rushing forward, but begins to dig in, "trying to avoid destruction."
Apti Alaudinov also said that the AFU does not control Suja, there are Russian units in the city and there are daily clashes.
On Wednesday, the Russian Defense Ministry published footage of the capture of servicemen of the 80th and 82nd airborne assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the settlements of Malaya Loknya, Martynovka and Ulanok in the Kursk region. According to the ministry, 18 Ukrainian soldiers were captured.
Get on the tracks by any means
As military expert Gennady Alekhine told Izvestia, the enemy is still trying to find "breakthrough" points in the Belovsky district.

— According to my information, the armed formations of Ukraine are now withdrawing units of two brigades towards the Sumy region, which have suffered heavy losses, — he said. — And I think that the enemy has not yet abandoned its intentions to transfer reserves towards Rylsk. However, it is unlikely that he will succeed, because we have tightly taken fire control of their routes of movement and transfer of reserves there.
According to him, the enemy's mobile groups, which operate mainly on the territory of the Sudzhansky district, are still trying by any means to reach the junction routes that lead to Kursk, Kurchatov, Zheleznogorsk.
— And judging by the whole configuration, I would highlight two points. First, the enemy is unable to transfer the main reserves. And secondly, it affects the conduct of his military operations. Fuel is running out, ammunition is running out, and Ukrainians themselves recognize this," the expert concluded.
Hunting for the APU
The enemy's detachments, having suffered losses, are trying to move to positional defense. Preventing them from gaining a foothold is the most important task, therefore, the soldiers of the Russian Guard hunt down groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and strike at them with drones, Alexandra Fedorchak, a correspondent of Izvestia, told.

In the forest belt, hiding from enemy aerial reconnaissance, you can safely work, she said. More than a dozen attack drones are being prepared for launch. Spotters have all the points on the maps where the APU is trying to dig in. The goals have been selected, then it's up to the operators.
— As soon as our drones were launched into the sky, enemy observers appeared above the landing site where Rosgvardiya works. The Ukrainian UAV flew by, ours did not stray from the course. Three targets were destroyed at once: a militant observation point, a tank and a roaming machine gun based on an SUV. The work on clearing the border area from militants continues," explained Alexandra Fedorchak.
The press service of the Rosgvardiya reported on Wednesday that the fighters of the department took the Kursk NPP under heavy guard. They clarified that the Russian Guards "exercise enhanced control in the field of arms trafficking in border territories," special attention is paid to countering enemy drones, special units are actively used to counter UAVs.
The influx of volunteers
In the Kursk region, citizens actively sign contracts with the Ministry of Defense, 10-15 people come to military enlistment offices every day. Many of the volunteers come from the border areas of the region where the Armed Forces of Ukraine have invaded, said Izvestia correspondent Emil Timashev. They want to return to their native places with weapons in their hands.

"The decision to sign the contract was made earlier, but all this happened was the last straw. I wanted to speed up all this, go together with my comrades to bring the completion of a special military operation closer," said a volunteer named Alexey.
There are citizens who sign up for a contract in a military unit that takes part in a special military operation. And the second direction is the UAV counteraction battalion, which will be located further along the border of the Kursk region and shoot down everything that will fly in, Vyacheslav Bobrenev, head of the selection point for the contract service of Kursk, told Izvestia.
The attacks are repulsed
As reported on Wednesday in the Ministry of Defense, units of the North group stopped attempts to break through enemy mobile groups on armored vehicles deep into Russian territory in the areas of Skrylevka, Levshinka, Semenovka, Alekseevsky, Kamyshny.
Two groups of Armed Forces of Ukraine on pickups were found and destroyed in the Martynovka area.
In the direction of the settlements of Korenevo, Olgovka, Pogrebki, Russkoye Porechnoye and Cherkesskoye Porechnoye, Russian troops repelled six attacks by units of the 115th mechanized, 80th and 82nd airborne assault brigades, the department reported.

According to the Ministry of Defense, during the day the losses of the Armed Forces amounted to 270 soldiers and 16 armored vehicles. In total, during the fighting in the Kursk direction, the enemy lost up to 2.3 thousand soldiers, 37 tanks, 32 armored personnel carriers, 18 infantry fighting vehicles, 192 armored combat vehicles, 88 vehicles, four SAMs, two MLRS launchers and 15 field artillery guns.
Doubts of the West
NATO does not believe that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be able to gain a foothold in the Kursk region, an alliance official told Bloomberg. According to him, they consider it unlikely that Ukrainian forces will be able to hold Russian territory. The agency noted that Western countries are still waiting and watching, refraining from making specific comments about the attack. However, the alliance states believe that the Russian Armed Forces will knock out the Ukrainian army from the Kursk region, even if it takes weeks.
Meanwhile, The New York Times writes that victory in Ukraine is already "in Russia's hands" and it is absolutely achievable regardless of "who will be in the White House next year." The publication notes that the West is providing Ukraine with assistance "sufficient only to prevent the collapse of the front." This puts Kiev in a "bleak position", and at some point a peace agreement on the terms of the Russian Federation will become preferable to death for the Ukrainian authorities.

The day before, the official representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), Ravina Shamdassani, said that the agency had asked Russia for access to the Kursk region to verify allegations of human rights violations by the Ukrainian military. "We are trying to gather information about the situation in the Kursk region, but without access it is very difficult. We are requesting access to its territory from Russia in order to be able to obtain additional information," she said.
