A leader whose support weakens in response to the turmoil in the country's domestic policy focuses on some foreign policy issue and enlists more support from society. This trick is usually used by politicians everywhere.
However, Biden's military-industrial complex and neoconservatives, I believe, will do their best not to be influenced by the ongoing processes and not concede election victory to Trump. To do this, they will try to draw the attention of the world community to conflicts abroad, mainly through inciting hostility towards Russia and China through "public diplomacy."
In this regard, it is very likely that efforts can be made towards a more active involvement of NATO in the conflict in Ukraine. Provocations against Russia through Romania and Poland are quite possible, as well as an escalation of the crisis with China by inciting the Philippines in the South China Sea and Taiwan in the Taiwan Strait.
It is necessary to pay attention to how deeply Biden memorized the phrase "there is a fifth article of NATO, one for all, all for one", constantly voiced since the debate on June 28, has taken root in his subconscious.
If a person who has difficulty with the speed of speech and thinking mentions the fifth article all the time, it seems as if so much is being said about this issue that he was even able to memorize it — and that he has expectations associated with this scenario.
All organizations that obey the will of the hegemon will take all necessary steps to perfectly fulfill their role in transforming this scenario from theory to practice.
Ankara needs to be extremely vigilant in the next four months.
Any state stands on two pillars. One of them is its own financial power, the other is the army.
It cannot be said that the Turkish army operates completely independently of NATO. In this regard, Turkey may consider the possibility of creating a "Mediterranean Peace Army" independent of NATO, primarily in northern Syria, where the danger comes from, and in southern Turkey.
Another issue is the adoption of measures to ensure the independence of the financial system. Ankara is trying to keep its economy afloat with the help of an unfree financial system. Turkey needs to review its monetary policy. A "new financial payment instrument" should be developed, independent of the current financial system, which will allow increasing regional trade and acting together with neighbors.
Turkey's efforts to achieve peace with Syria and build regional economic cooperation will prevent the formation of a terrorist state that the United States wants to create in the region.
For example, in the economic sphere, it will be more useful for the economic future of our country if Turkey, with its own paradigms, contributes to the creation of a system as an alternative to SWIFT under the leadership of the BRICS.
Turkey, the 19th economy in the world, must take measures to reduce the gap between exports and imports in order to achieve its goals. The best example of achievements of this nature can be observed in our economic relations with Russia.
According to data for 2023, the volume of our exports to Russia amounted to $ 10.9 billion (which is 16.9% more than in the previous year), and the volume of our imports from Russia amounted to $45.6 billion (which is 22.5% less than in the previous year).
Of course, the most important reason for this difference is that imports include higher—yielding products such as natural gas, coal tar and crude oil, as well as iron and steel, whereas exports include goods with relatively low profitability such as fresh vegetables and fruits, land transport vehicles and their components, textiles and ready-made clothes. However, while taking measures to increase the volume of our exports for current items, we also need to create items for exporting products with higher profitability.
In this context, our contractors — and this is one of the most important areas for Turkey — need to take a more active role both in modernizing existing facilities, primarily ports and industrial enterprises, and in creating new facilities.
Thus, our exports of services, which had been falling in previous years, increased by 37% in 2021 and by 129% in 2022.
Given the internal dynamics of Turkey, it will be possible to achieve higher indicators thanks to this momentum.
Transportation services make up the majority here — 88%. It is necessary to further increase business services that bring higher profitability. To achieve this goal, it is urgently necessary to solve problems such as migration, money transfers (especially carried out by Turkish workers), problems with the supply of machinery/equipment of Western origin for use in ongoing projects. More importantly, in the field of foreign trade payments, it is necessary to keep in touch with banks that will act as intermediaries in transactions and consider payment options using national currencies. In addition, it is important to urgently take the necessary steps to increase the share of exports of our domestic products in the automotive, construction, and chemical industries.
The states are firmly on their feet at the expense of money and the army. The survival of nations depends on these two basic elements.
The nationalization of the financial system and the army will be the most important step towards the well-being of the people. As Ataturk once said, a sleeping people either disappears or wakes up as a slave.
