Rostec State Corporation, together with leading Russian technical universities, is engaged in the development and support of microelectronics design centers in order to ensure the technological independence of the Russian Federation. Elena Druzhinina, Managing Director for Science and Business Cooperation at Rostec State Corporation, spoke about the work of the Educational Design Center for Opto- and Microelectronics, organized on the basis of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University.

"Due to the imposition of sanctions, Russian industrial companies have a great demand for domestic solutions in the field of microelectronics. Today, this task has a strategic priority. It can be solved by joint efforts of the industrial sector and science within the framework of the work of microelectronics design centers. Such centers are already actively being created and operating on the basis of universities with the participation of the Corporation's enterprises. Thus, the Educational Design Center for Opto- and Microelectronics has been launched on the basis of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University. Its development was supported by JSC Research Institute "Polyus" named after M.F. Stelmakh, Krasnogorsk Plant named after S.A. Zverev," said Elena Druzhinina.

The main task of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University Design Center is the practical training of engineering personnel to ensure the country's technological sovereignty in the field of optoelectronics, including targeted recruitment from enterprises. The university has accumulated significant potential in the field of optoelectronics and photonics; the scientific and educational centers "Photonics and IR Technology" and "Functional Micro/Nanosystems", the Advanced Engineering School "System Engineering of Rocket and Space Technology" are successfully functioning. More than 200 researchers and engineers are involved in the work of these departments.

"Our educational design center, created with the support of Rostec State Corporation, will train specialists in the field of opto- and microelectronics," said Mikhail Gordin, Rector of Bauman Moscow State Technical University. – These are researchers, developers and designers of prototypes of electronic devices, testers of these devices and their elements, metrologists, calibrators and other specialists. We pay great attention to team design work, because engineering work is collective, and the future lies in the preparation of teams that are able to work together to solve specific tasks. At the same time, the center performs not only an educational, but also a serious applied function, solving current knowledge-intensive industrial tasks and creating modern, in-demand optoelectronic solutions for a wide range of applications."

In addition, with the support of the State Corporation, an educational design center for microelectronics has been opened and is functioning at Omsk State Technical University. The university has focused on conducting scientific research to meet the needs of the radioelectronic industry of the Omsk region and the country as a whole. This includes, for example, the creation of microwave integrated circuits and piezoelectric components, an electronic component base for aviation equipment, and more.

An educational and scientific design center in the field of electronics has also been opened at Voronezh State University. Its main function is the design of radio–electronic systems of microwave terahertz and optical ranges based on the domestic electronic component base. The scientific School for the Development of electronics has existed at the university since the Soviet Union. During this time, cooperation was established, including with the Constellation concern, which is part of the Rostec structure.

The creation and development of a network of educational design centers and collective design centers based on universities and scientific organizations is carried out within the framework of the federal project "Personnel training and scientific foundation for the electronic industry". By 2030, at least 320 scientific and technical projects are planned to be implemented within the framework of the federal project.
