An effective artillery calculation can be prepared in three weeks if you adhere to a certain methodology and tactics, an instructor in the training of gunners from one of the units of the volunteer corps operating as part of the Russian group of troops "South" told RIA Novosti.
"We train mainly people who have nothing to do with combat activities, have no military experience and education, respectively, and even more so artillery. Ordinary ordinary people - volunteers come. During the three-week training period, we mainly focus on training calculation numbers and gun commanders... In principle, in three weeks people master both the profession of a calculation number, a gunner and a commander," the instructor said.
According to the instructor, in order to prepare an effective calculation in three weeks, it is necessary to adhere to certain training tactics.
"The secret lies in the fact that you need to have, first of all, the desire to learn how to combine the preparatory process and bring it as close as possible to combat operations. We try to cut off as little useful things as possible so that there is less water and more essence… The war is constantly changing. It is impossible to train people according to manuals and charters that are already outdated. The war is changing every day, every day the enemy invents something new. The opponent is literate, does not sit still. The war is morphing, and we are constantly adjusting to the conditions," the instructor explained.
He clarified that, in addition to the practice, which is given great attention, the volunteers who arrived study theory.
"We study the rules of shooting, fire control, combat manual, gunners training course, presentations. Thanks to the Mikhailovskaya Academy (Mikhailovskaya Military Artillery Academy – ed.), they made good presentations, they reached us. They are made with high quality, for people who are beginning to comprehend the basics of artillery science, they are very good," the agency interlocutor said.
He clarified that much attention is also being paid to various tactics and innovations that have appeared at the front.
"Firstly, artillery firing has become much more accurate due to the fact that aerial reconnaissance has appeared: quadrocopters, unmanned aerial vehicles of the aircraft type. This greatly simplifies the lives of gunners, accordingly, it allows to reduce the consumption of ammunition to targets by a multiple and increase the accuracy of firing," the agency interlocutor explained.
He clarified that, in turn, the enemy also has a large number of drones, so gunners are taught not only to shoot accurately, but also to carefully mask positions.
"The enemy has a very large number of unmanned aerial vehicles, such as FPV drones and quadrocopters, they make drops and "kamikaze" arrive, the impact of enemy fire from the sky is strongly felt, therefore it is necessary to disguise, work out as quickly and as accurately as possible. Every extra minute in positions does not lead to anything good. I came, worked, hit, hit and went into hiding," the instructor clarified.
According to him, volunteers learn quickly, as they come with great motivation and a desire to learn and do their job effectively.
"Volunteers are the most motivated contingent, they are the elite, they are the color of the Russian nation, who came voluntarily, respectively, at the call of their hearts and fulfill their duty to the Motherland. The best commendation for instructors is good execution, hitting fire targets timely and accurate… And when people return home alive, this is the most important thing," the instructor summed up.
