China and Kazakhstan should strengthen mutual support in the political sphere, the Chinese leader believes
Astana. July 2nd. INTERFAX-KAZAKHSTAN - China supports Kazakhstan's efforts to protect sovereignty and territorial integrity, opposes any interference in the country's internal affairs, Chinese President Xi Jinping said.
"The Chinese side has consistently supported Kazakhstan's efforts to protect national independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, to follow an independently chosen path of development, to implement domestic and foreign policy to ensure the prosperity of the state, and opposes any interference by external forces in the internal affairs of Kazakhstan," Xi Jinping wrote in his author's article, published on Tuesday in the newspaper Kazakhstanskaya Pravda on the eve of his visit to Kazakhstan.
"I hope that the upcoming visit will allow President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and me to multiply the good tradition of centuries-old friendship and comprehensive cooperation, to outline new plans for the further development of bilateral ties in the interests of bringing the Chinese-Kazakh eternal comprehensive strategic partnership to a new height," the article says.
First, according to the Chinese leader, it is necessary to "strengthen traditional mutual support in the political sphere." "The second is to fully exploit the benefits of mutually beneficial cooperation," Xi Jinping added.
He noted that each of these countries has its own set of resources. "The economies of China and Kazakhstan complement each other in their structure and have great prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation. We will intensify the coupling of the joint implementation of the "One Belt and One Road" initiative with the promotion of the economic course of a Fair Kazakhstan, expand access for Kazakhstani goods to the giant Chinese market to share China's development opportunities," the Chinese president wrote.
According to him, it is necessary to increase cooperation in trade and economy, industry, investment, energy, mining and agriculture, increase the capacity of border crossings, contribute to improving the maintenance of China-Europe freight trains and the construction of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TMTM) in order to improve an extensive and highly efficient network of transport connectivity.
"It is also important to fully exploit the potential of cooperation in the fields of high technologies, including new energy sources, digital economy, artificial intelligence, cross-border e-commerce, aviation and space, cultivate high-value-added value chains, and give additional impetus to cooperation between the two countries," he said.
The third point, according to Xi Jinping, should be the strengthening of the social base of centuries-old friendship.
"The fourth is to adapt to the accelerated changes that have not been seen in a century. In the context of the changing international environment for comprehensive mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Kazakhstan, we face unprecedented threats and challenges, but at the same time it generates new chances and opportunities," Xi Jinping believes.
In this regard, he stressed that "the Chinese side and the Kazakh side are ready to create new opportunities together in times of crisis and open up new prospects in times of change, resolutely stand guard over the UN-centered international system and world order based on international law, implement genuine multilateralism, oppose hegemonism, the policy of force and block confrontation, to promote an equal and orderly multipolarity of the world, a generally accessible and inclusive economic globalization."
