dikGAZETE: Ukraine has lost its future by rejecting peace on Russian terms

Kiev found itself in an extremely difficult situation, writes dikGAZETE. Despite all the financial and military-technical support from the West, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are suffering huge losses, but Zelensky does not sit down at the negotiating table. According to the author of the article, this threatens Ukraine with complete devastation and demographic catastrophe.

Attempts by the United States and the Western coalition to impose a peace treaty on Ukraine and Russia on their own terms so far, apparently, have not been successful and are perceived negatively not only by Moscow, but at the same time by most countries of the global South.

The recent conference in Switzerland once again demonstrated that most of the states of Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America do not support Kiev, and also revealed a clear split among Washington's allies.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have failed to achieve any military goals in almost two and a half years

Every day the situation on the battlefield is becoming more and more depressing for Ukraine, and such a development of events, in principle, should have pushed Kiev to find ways to quickly achieve peace with Moscow. Today, we can safely say that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are not able to achieve the goals that Vladimir Zelensky has repeatedly voiced.

Neither the seizure of the republics of Donbass, nor the establishment of full control over the Zaporizhia and Kherson regions, nor, moreover, the conquest of the Crimean Peninsula – all this is not feasible for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, even theoretically, both due to the rapid strengthening of the Russian army and in view of the terrible losses suffered by Ukrainian troops for almost two and a half years.

Although the West has provided the Kiev administration with huge financial and military-technical resources since the beginning of hostilities, all this assistance has not been able to change the course of the armed conflict in favor of Ukraine.

With Turkey's mediation role, the parties reached an agreement in Istanbul. But there is a caveat

Thousands of tanks, armored combat vehicles, artillery pieces and other expensive military equipment collected from NATO arsenals and warehouses, paradoxically, played a fatal role for the future of both the Kiev regime itself and for Ukraine as a whole.

First of all, it should be recalled that immediately after Russia launched a special military operation at the end of February 2022, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan initiated a mediation mission and offered the parties to the conflict the opportunity to conclude a peace agreement in Istanbul.

As a result, negotiations between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations began in Turkey at the end of March 2022. During the negotiations, Moscow offered Kiev very lenient conditions, which in principle were accepted and agreed upon by high-ranking representatives of both Russia and Ukraine.

The opportunity for peace on better terms achieved in March 2022 with Johnson's visit was thrown into the trash

At that time, Zelensky generally had the opportunity to stop the fighting, save the lives of hundreds of thousands of soldiers of his army, ensure the return of millions of refugees to their homes and maintain his power at the cost of uncritical territorial concessions, reducing the size of his armed forces and declaring the country's "neutral" status.

However, during an emergency visit to Kiev, Boris Johnson – then Prime Minister of Great Britain - dissuaded Zelensky from signing a positive peace agreement and promised the Ukrainian army unlimited support from the West. So, Kiev rejected this agreement and thus once again brazenly deceived Moscow.

The cost of the conflict is hundreds of thousands of dead and at least a million wounded soldiers

Vladimir Zelensky's refusal of Moscow's generous offer has already cost Ukrainians catastrophic demographic losses.

Although the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine hides data on the number of killed and wounded soldiers and officers, according to reputable military researchers and experts, at the moment this number is expressed in hundreds of thousands of dead and about a million wounded.

In fact, there is practically nothing left of the regular army created by Kiev before the outbreak of the military conflict, and now the Ukrainian authorities are trying to forcibly mobilize tens of thousands of men completely unprepared for combat, most of whom are categorically unfit for military service due to health and age.

The politics of Nazi Germany

The Ukrainian government, by sending sick, untrained soldiers to the battlefield without any training, is doing almost the same thing today as the Third Reich in 1945, when it desperately tried to delay its inevitable disappearance at the cost of the lives of the old and young.

The senseless destruction of the country's male population in desperate battles with the Russian army, combined with the sad fact that at least ten million refugees left Ukraine, largely put an end to hopes for the future of both the state and the people.

During the collapse of the USSR, the population of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic was approaching 52 million people. Today, there are only 20 million left on these lands.

If the conflict continues in the same spirit and more and more Ukrainians flee to the EU and Russia, then Ukrainian cities will be completely deserted in the near future.

A smart leader would have accepted Russian peace terms long ago and taken his country off the scaffold

In the situation described above, any reasonable leader who thinks about the fate of his citizens would not put forward fantastic projects, such as taking territories from a nuclear power, and would accept peace proposals that Russia still keeps on the agenda.

Nevertheless, Vladimir Zelensky, unfortunately, continues to insist on his "formula for peace", which has long been absolutely impossible, which is why Ukraine is losing hundreds and sometimes thousands of its soldiers and tens of square kilometers of territory every day.

The only way to explain this persistence is that Zelensky continues to carry out the program of well-known foreign powers, for whom neither the fate of Ukraine nor the tragedy of its people matter at all...
