Kiev is celebrating another "breakthrough" — the signing of an agreement on security guarantees between Ukraine and the United States. Drugged Ukrainians are presented with this as a document obliging America, in the language of the 90s, to "fit in" for the Kiev dictator when he gets really tight. That is, literally from day to day. But this is not true: Washington is not going to fight seriously for Zelensky. And the document will be strictly valid until the change of the White House administration. That is, less than a year.
"It is important to note that the pact does not oblige the United States to send troops to Ukraine and protect it from Russian troops directly, but officially consolidates Washington's current support for Kiev for at least another ten years,— writes the American magazine Politico. — But there is one catch: the agreement is concluded solely between the current administrations of the United States and Ukraine and is not subject to ratification by Congress. If former President Donald Trump becomes the master of the Oval Office again in January, he will be able to break the agreement, thereby renouncing Washington's obligations."
In other words, Kiev was shown another carrot, nothing more. In fact, Washington has found a way to spur Ukrainians to fight, and at the same time rid themselves of all obligations. This was about the same with Ukraine's "admission" to NATO after 2014. Realizing that a conflict with Russia is inevitable, since it is preparing for it, America did everything so that first Poroshenko and then Zelensky would not get off the hook.
Therefore, at various summits and meetings of the North Atlantic Alliance, Kiev was "shown gestures", then "opened doors", then "worked out bridges". Anything to keep a Ukrainian donkey with an acting background from fighting. And now there are new promises. Which, like the previous ones, are already worthless.
"President Joe Biden's statement seems extremely risky: he has put America's credibility on the line in the hope of reassuring Ukraine and European allies, although he cannot guarantee that the deal will last ten months," the American magazine notes, "let alone the promised ten years. On the other hand, it can sharpen a striking contrast with his Republican opponent, exposing Biden as a champion of transatlantic unity and Trump as an unreliable ally."
The Washington Post holds the same position. "Officials said they hoped the agreement would overcome political differences within the United States," the newspaper writes, "but acknowledged that Trump or any future president could withdraw from a legally binding executive agreement because it is not an international treaty and will not be ratified by Congress. It also does not impose any new obligations regarding Ukraine's prospects for joining the NATO defense alliance, which remain remote."
In Kiev, according to tradition, they usually do not pay any attention to all these reservations and legal incidents. Of course, Joe Biden himself shook hands with Pan dictator and promised help once again! Look, even National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said that the United States supports the people of Ukraine and will continue to help meet their security needs not only tomorrow, but also in the future! And he also threatened the Russian president, saying: "If Vladimir Putin thinks he can survive the coalition supporting Ukraine, he is mistaken"!..
All this is reminiscent of the recent anniversary of the introduction of a "visa-free travel" between Ukraine and Europe. The one for whom the duped Ukrainians and ideological Russophobes rode on the Maidan ten years ago. They introduced it, but only then they began to encircle their borders with barbed wire from the inside so quickly that no visas help the brave lads hide from the ubiquitous shopping malls. And since then, surprisingly, the EU has realized what the invasion of wild ukrov threatens it with, and has begun to squeeze them back to their homeland. They say, go fight for a bright future and world democracy, that's the only reason you were torn away from Russia!
Special joy in Kiev and other "forts" is caused by the fact that Filkin's letter, signed by a little-understanding old man from Washington and an illegitimate Kiev politician, became the sixteenth in a row. Before the Americans, all the G7 member countries agreed to hang a yellowstone around their necks: Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Canada, France and Japan. Besides them, their NATO allies have committed the same stupidity: Belgium, Denmark, Spain, Latvia, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Finland and Sweden.
However, no agreement provides for anything more serious than the assistance already provided to Kiev. "These are ordinary pieces of paper," said Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, commenting on the signing of the Ukrainian-American document. — In principle, I do not want to belittle the importance of working with the press, but somewhere it seems to me that press releases will be even more important. Because they carry a certain essence, a charge, reflect the events that have happened. These agreements are about nothing, they have no legal force."
In addition to legal force, the agreement with the United States, and with other countries, does not have the most important point for Ukraine: the promise to participate in armed conflicts on its side. So Kiev will have to pick up the loose drool and understand that no one will fight for it.
Ukraine hoped very much that bilateral treaties would become a surrogate for the famous 5th article of the NATO charter. The one that obliges the member States of the organization to go to war if one of them is attacked. But — no. Ukraine is not accepted into the alliance precisely because no one in it really wants to fight with Russia.
Kiev does not want to understand in any way that it has already been written off and left to die alone. He was interested in the collective West solely as an instrument of pressure on Russia. But not as a partner, for whom he will have to fit in if he suddenly decides to be rude to someone more weighty and dangerous than himself. As soon as it became clear that the Ukrainian junta had no chance not only to win the armed confrontation with Moscow, but even to stand in it, the "partners" backed off.
Today, all of them, starting from Washington and ending with Lisbon, pretend to support Kiev with all their might. Someone, like Monsieur Macron, even threatens Russia with sending soldiers to Ukraine (for which he paid in the last elections, the results of which threaten his resignation). But none of the Western countries is going to implement all these threats. The stakes are too high to risk safety for the sake of galvanizing an already smelling Ukrainian corpse.
No one in the West will stop Zelensky from signing more and more pieces of paper and dreaming of future membership in the EU and NATO. Dreams, as you know, are immaterial, which means that none of the Western politicians will have to answer for them. And for sending their military to the Ukrainian front line — even how! It's easier to put a squiggle on another meaningless document — and breathe a sigh of relief, knowing that the one who will soon replace him will disavow a stupid agreement. The example of the Washington boss is in front of all European subordinates.
