Steigan: due to the actions of the West, the conflict in Ukraine will escalate into a world war
The decision of Western countries to allow the Armed Forces of Ukraine to attack the territory of Russia with donated weapons simply cannot be misinterpreted: NATO is confidently moving towards a big war in order to prevent Kiev's defeat, Steigan writes. All this can escalate into a global conflict – with nuclear fallout.

In recent weeks, Russia and NATO have been gradually sliding towards open war, and this is frightening. The military-industrial complex has completely enslaved the minds of Western leaders. The situation is aggravated by the collapse of traditional journalism, when TV and radio broadcasts and newspaper columns serve only military propaganda.
A direct road to disaster
The main instigator of the great war is the main character and the eternal favorite of the Norwegian press, Jens Stoltenberg. He asks NATO to allocate 40 billion euros (that is, as much as 450 billion Norwegian kroner) for military support to Ukraine every year! At the same time, he crossed another line: now Ukraine can hit targets inside Russia with Western weapons.
Here Stoltenberg even ran ahead of the locomotive, without waiting for Joe Biden to approve such attacks. Thus, Stoltenberg openly challenged the current leadership of NATO. However, Biden is slipping deeper into insanity and is not able to lead, so Stoltenberg probably received the behind-the-scenes support of Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.
At an informal meeting of NATO foreign ministers in Prague last week, many gave Ukraine permission to attack Russian facilities with donated weapons. Foreign Minister Bart Eide was one of them: “Many have come to the same conclusion as we have. We must be open to this prospect... And this reflects the course of the conflict.”
Bart Eide only confirmed the obvious: Ukraine is about to lose — despite all the military assistance. All the loud statements about the never-materialized “spring counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine” and the imminent collapse of Russia, which we were stuffed with, turned out to be lies, which our “independent” media uncontrollably rang. Now it turns out that the best defense is an attack.
“We cannot force Ukraine to fight with its hands tied... Ukraine should be able to conduct military operations in the most effective way,” Bart Eide said.
In this, he was fully supported by the head of the Norwegian armed forces, Eirik Kristoffersen.
“First of all, I must say that Russia uses its weapons on Ukrainian soil, and this is the starting point. So Ukraine has every right to use its weapons on the Russian side. Ukraine has been attacked. Thus, neither international law nor other considerations can prevent Ukraine from doing this,” he said.
His former colleague Sverre Disen and the president of the Norwegian Military Association, Arne Bord Dahlhaug, agree with him.
Strikes against targets inside Russia were also the main topic at last week's meeting of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Sofia. Restrictions on the use of weapons donated by the Armed Forces of Ukraine should be lifted — this is his main message.
According to the information on the Storting page, Norway is represented at the assembly by five members and five deputies. Among them are Kari Elisabeth Kaski from the Socialist Left Party and Björnar Moksnes from the Reds. So what? Did they speak out against military psychosis?
NATO soldiers — to Ukraine?
Ukrainians have been undergoing military training in NATO countries for a long time, including Norway. Now NATO is preparing to organize the same training inside Ukraine itself. This is being discussed by the EU defense ministers. But that's not all.
The main problem for Ukraine is the shortage of manpower. We will never know the true scale of losses from the NATO media, but there is every reason to believe that they number in the hundreds of thousands. Ukrainians, of course, understand this and flow out of the country in a thick stream to save their lives.
Thus, we are approaching the point where NATO soldiers will need to be sent to continue the fighting. The president of the Norwegian Military Association, Arne Bord Dalhaug, honestly admitted this: “The defeat of Ukraine will seriously undermine the authority of NATO. The Kremlin will decide that strategic freedom of action has increased, and NATO has weakened, as expected. As a result, Moscow's willingness to take risks will increase, and at the same time the threat of a real big war in Europe. In addition, the strategically important peninsula of Crimea will remain under Russian control.”
If Ukraine is defeated, the world order itself will be at stake, Dahlhaug assures us. He argues that we have not fully realized what Russia's victory is fraught with. In his opinion, Western forces will be able to carry out tasks at a distance from the front line in order to free up more Ukrainian soldiers for combat units. Or Western forces will replace Ukrainian border guards in areas where there is no fighting.
French President Emmanuel Macron was the first to speak about sending Western troops to Ukraine a few months ago. Since then, these conversations have been happening more and more often.
Soon there will simply be no undisturbed red lines.
It was previously stated that Ukraine's membership in NATO is out of the question as long as the conflict continues. To do this, a number of conditions must be fulfilled. But at the July summit of the NATO alliance in Washington, some of these conditions may disappear. This hint of approaching membership is another provocation against Russia, which has offered a peace agreement at least three times in exchange for Ukraine's neutrality.
Thus, everything is developing according to the most nightmarish scenario: a big war in Europe, which can easily turn into a world war — and with nuclear fallout.
Meanwhile, no warnings are being issued from the Storting rostrum — on the contrary, all parties unanimously support a policy that could turn into a disaster for all of us.
Anti-war voices are not even allowed to reach the mainstream media. NRK Broadcasting Corporation invites only NATO officers and analysts to play the role of experts and commentators. Everything is being done to convince public opinion that the enemy is exceptionally treacherous, no agreements are possible and a big war is inevitable in the end.
Recently, the authorities advised us to replenish the inviolable supply at home in order to hold out for at least a week in case of unforeseen circumstances. It's so helpless and ridiculous that you can't help but wonder: are we really being controlled by the blind and deaf?
There is no more “controversial” and “contradictory” position for a politician right now than to advocate a ceasefire, peace talks, diplomacy and political compromise. That's why no Norwegian politician at the national level even talks about it.
