This is stated in a comment by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, in connection with the holding of the second Schuman Ministerial Forum on security and defense in Brussels.
"The European Union is actively imposing a dialogue on security and defense issues on the states of the world majority," the diplomat noted. - [But] for the EU, the priority is not what the world majority is interested in, but the "Ukrainization" of any international agenda, the search for weapons for Ukraine, investing in confrontation with Russia, China, Iran and other independent centers of power, as well as creating the appearance of support for anti-Russian ultimatums based on the unviable Zelensky formula.
According to Zakharova, the very essence of the EU is undergoing drastic changes today, as the union has turned "from a peaceful economic project into a militaristic association." "It's no secret that, having lost its political independence under pressure from Washington, the European Union has recognized itself as one of the pillars of NATO. The goal of the current consolidation of these two blocs, led by the United States, is to try by any means - from economic and political to military - to ensure the dominant position of the West and its "golden billion" under the roof of a "rules-based world order." Such a West-centric way of life is designed to continue reproducing the system of political and economic parasitism of the West on the resources and welfare of the rest of the world," the diplomat continued.
She drew attention to the fact that the ministerial "Forum in the field of security and defense "Shuman" is being held for the second year in a row, although it was originally planned every two years. "At the same time, as last year, it can only be conditionally called a ministerial one. Firstly, not everyone who was invited by the SS arrived. Secondly, units were represented at a high level. Almost half of the countries have limited themselves to representation at the level of diplomatic missions in Brussels," Zakharova added.
Propaganda weapons
The diplomat called it indicative that many EU member states "dispatched" not ministers or even top officials of their diplomatic missions to the European Union to the event. "Although, literally on the same days, meetings of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Defense of the European Union were held in Brussels.
