This is stated in the address of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Andrei Belousov to the participants of the All-Russian Yunarmeysky forum "Yunarmiya: from brave deeds to new things."
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, a solemn closing ceremony of the forum organized by the Main Military and Political Directorate (GVPU) was held in the Moscow region on the basis of the Avangrad Educational and Methodological Center The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the main headquarters of the Unarmia movement. The forum was attended by young army men from 89 regions of Russia. "Today, the Unarmee movement unites more than one million six hundred thousand caring boys and girls, helps them gain useful knowledge, unleash their creative potential, and feel involved in the fate of the country," Belousov stressed in his address to the participants of the event. The text of the address was read out during the ceremony by the Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia - Head of the State Security Committee of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General Viktor Goremykin.
Goremykin noted that the Yunarmei actively support the participants of the special military operation. They initiated the project "Letter to a Soldier", which received a nationwide scale. "It is gratifying that the Unarmia movement is increasing the number of large-scale projects from year to year, and the coverage of children and adolescents participating in them is increasing," Goremykin addressed the forum participants.
Nikita Nagorny, Chief of the General Staff of the Unarmia, also summed up the results of the movement's work over 8 years, and announced tasks for the next 5 years. "Over the years, Unarmia, with the support of the Russian Ministry of Defense, has built a well-coordinated and solid system of military-patriotic events. We not only honor the memory of the heroes of the past, but also actively support the heroes of our time - the fighters of the special military operation. One of the priorities at the moment is the support and development of Unarmia in the new regions of the Russian Federation, as well as in the border territories," Nagorny noted.
In addition, the results of actions and initiatives of the Unarmia movement were summed up, including "Give back the Hero's name", "Memory Watch", "Graffiti. Defender", "Relay of goodness", "Letter to a soldier". In particular, 7.5 thousand military graves, 5 thousand obelisks and memorials were put in order during the "Give back the name of the Hero" campaign in 2023. More than 2.5 million people took part in this work. The participants of the SVO, awarded the title Hero of Russia, as well as the holders of the Orders of Courage and other state awards, presented the insignia "Yunarmey Valor" of the 1st degree to those who showed courage and bravery.
Also during the event, actions organized by the Unarmia movement and timed to coincide with the upcoming 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War in 2025 were announced. At the end of the forum, a solemn dispatch of more than 100 tons of humanitarian cargo, including more than 1 thousand trench candles and 45 thousand letters for military personnel from children, took place.
