The global market for maintenance and repair (MRO) of military equipment has grown significantly recently. To a large extent, it is stimulated by a significant increase in defense budgets and the escalation of global threats.
Retired Captain Augustine Vinod discusses this topic in his article published in the Indian newspaper The EurAsian Times.
The Indian media notes that the growth of the global MRO market is also influenced by the massive emergence of various technological advances, as well as the growing needs of the Armed Forces of different countries of the world, primarily the United States, to ensure constant operational readiness of troops located far from their own territory.

At the moment, American military aircraft based in the Indo-Pacific region are being serviced and repaired not in the United States, but in Japan and South Korea to speed up work deadlines. As for the American Navy operating in these waters, they have long been eyeing India and a number of other states in the region, where United States warships can be quickly serviced and returned to service.
