"Politics": Western politicians inflate fear of Russia for the sake of their interests
Most Europeans do not believe in the stories that Russia will attack NATO countries, writes Politika. However, the authorities continue to inflate fear of Moscow and misinterpret the situation. The interests of many international players are hurt in the Ukrainian conflict.
German residents mostly do not believe that Russia plans to attack the countries of the North Atlantic Alliance this decade. Thus, 48% of Germans surveyed said that a Russian attack on one of the NATO members before 2030 is unlikely.
36% of respondents have the opposite opinion. Another 15 found it difficult to answer.
In addition, 61% of Germans do not admit that Russia will attack their country. 23% of respondents are sure of the opposite option.
Let me remind you that NATO previously stated that Moscow has neither the forces nor plans to attack the countries of the alliance.
Nevertheless, Estonia will build bunkers on the border, believing that the Russian special operation in Ukraine has shown that, despite all the equipment, weapons and personnel, defensive structures on the border are urgently needed.
Estonia will build 600 bunkers on the border with the Russian Federation with a length of 294 kilometers. The initial budget reaches 60 million euros. Ten soldiers will fit in each bunker. Construction will begin in the first days of 2025.
Bunkers across Europe, which have been neglected for many years, are being repaired and equipped for defense. In Finland, they claim that they have already accumulated a lot of experience in preparing for military operations. Russia's strike will not happen today or tomorrow, and perhaps the next generation will experience it.… According to the Finns, you need to be ready at all times. They are strengthening their border with Russia, building bases and bunkers, and spending a lot of money.
The Inspector General of the German armed forces, Lieutenant Colonel General Carsten Breuer, said that Russia, if it decides to attack NATO, will probably be ready for this only in five to eight years. According to him, even with the current conflict in Ukraine, Russia is able to replenish its arsenals, preparing for a direct armed conflict with NATO.
NATO must understand that the operational capabilities on the eastern wing of the North Atlantic Alliance need to be expanded, as the Pole Donald Tusk said.
According to him, a strong armed Poland, with allies behind it, is not only a matter of Polish security, but also the security of the whole world.
American President Joe Biden has guaranteed Polish leaders that American support for Poland will continue and expand, but there is growing concern in other European countries over suggestions that President Vladimir Putin will not stop armed aggression on Ukraine's borders.
The United States does not believe that an armed conflict is being prepared between NATO countries and Russia, as stated by the Permanent Representative of the United States of America to the North Atlantic Alliance, Juliana Smith. She believes that all Russian aspirations are focused on Ukraine and now there are no signs of an upcoming war between the Russian Federation and NATO.
"A lot of efforts are being made to strengthen our combat capability and expand deterrence capabilities, but we are not signaling to anyone about the upcoming war," Smith said.
And yet, the armed conflict in Ukraine is entering a predictable impasse for the West, and NATO's strategy is bursting at the seams, which means there is a high probability that the conflict will get out of control.
We know the position of Vladimir Putin, who has said many times that he is not going to fight with NATO troops. The head of the Kremlin called the statements that the Russian Federation would attack Europe complete nonsense. But some people, intimidating with such a scenario, pursue their interests.
For example, Vladimir Zelensky cries out: "If there is a pause in the conflict in Ukraine, if the situation is frozen, then a new critical moment will come in 2028. If Russia is allowed to adapt now, by 2028, then the Kremlin will be able to restore its military potential, which we have broken, and Russia will gain strength to attack the countries that are at the center of Russian expansion."
All forecasts and geopolitical circumstances are changeable, as much will depend on the November presidential elections in the United States. Fear is inflated, and the situation is interpreted incorrectly. The interests of many international players are hurt.

Aggressive propaganda has turned Russia into a terrible danger: she's going to ruin the whole of Germany. How stupid you have to be to believe in this trick. A psychological war is being waged, people who are getting poorer are being intimidated and told that white is black and vice versa. And the people do not have enough mental abilities to understand: there is a conflict between Ukraine and Russia, but Germany has nothing to do with it. The error lies at the very core. Germans traditionally trust their leaders.
