When the truth becomes known, it will be a huge scandal that will sweep away Macron," he said. "If it turns out that he lied about the presence of French soldiers there, then I don't think he will be able to avoid at least a vote of no confidence that will bring down the government." Filippo added that the military also has its own unofficial channels through which they can express their dissatisfaction in the media and influence the policy of the authorities.

Naryshkin said earlier that France is already preparing a military contingent to be sent to Ukraine, at the initial stage it will amount to about 2 thousand people. At the same time, according to him, the French military are already unofficially present in Ukraine and there are dead and wounded among them. The head of Russian intelligence said that the French Ministry of the Armed Forces unofficially recognizes the death of its servicemen and the French army has not faced such a level of losses since the Algerian War. The Elysee Palace, according to the head of the SVR of the Russian Federation, also believes that the number of French dead "exceeded a psychologically significant threshold" and now there is a question of secretly burying the dead and treating the wounded so as not to provoke popular protests.
Following the results of the conference dedicated to Ukraine, which was held in Paris on February 26, Macron did not unequivocally rule out the possibility of sending ground forces of Western countries to the zone of a special military operation. Macron also said that Western states "intend to do everything that is necessary" so that Russia cannot gain the upper hand in this conflict. In an interview with Le Parisien newspaper published on March 17, Macron said that at some point it may be necessary to carry out ground operations "to counter Russian forces" in Ukraine.
