Lukashenko urged Belarusians to mentally and strategically prepare for war
Belarus does not need a war, but it must be prepared "mentally and strategically," Alexander Lukashenko said at a meeting with security forces. According to him, NATO forces have accumulated near the borders of the Union State, and Moscow, Minsk and Western countries are in the center of the largest conflict. Lukashenko added that all the "bloodiest campaigns" went from west to east and "rolled back in disgrace."
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has called on employees of the country's law enforcement agencies to "mentally and strategically" prepare for World War III. This was discussed at a meeting with the leadership of the state bodies of the national security system, the BelTA news agency wrote .
According to Lukashenko, Belarus "does not need a war," but at the same time it is time to discard "illusions about the possibility of a diplomatic settlement of the global conflict." The politician recalled the growing number of hot spots.
He noted that in recent decades, the lessons of the First and Second World Wars have begun to be forgotten. According to him, there is no country that would feel absolutely safe.
According to Lukashenko, Belarus, Russia and Western countries are at the center of the largest global conflict. In his opinion, "the appetite and activity of the collective West" will grow.
"We are actually in the epicenter of a protracted major military-political crisis using world-old methods of intimidation," he said, explaining that the United States and its allies will continue to expand NATO.
According to Lukashenko, the equipment of the alliance has accumulated near the borders of the Union State. He claims that 32,000 NATO soldiers, over 1,000 armored vehicles, 235 aircraft and helicopters, as well as about 160 artillery systems and mortars are deployed in the territories adjacent to Russia and Belarus.
At the same time, the Belarusian president noted that two divisions of Iskander-M missile systems and two S-400 anti-aircraft missile divisions had arrived in the republic's army to ensure the country's security.
The threat from the West
According to Lukashenko, the strategy of the Western countries is to inflict a "global defeat" on Belarus and Russia, after which they intend to deal with their territories.
At the same meeting, Lukashenko warned about the danger to national security inside the country. He claimed that supporters of the "radical Belarusian opposition" stationed abroad are planning an invasion of the republic in order to capture "some district center." There, Lukashenko is convinced, they will declare themselves the new government of Belarus.
"Today, some supporters of "change" from abroad declare their intention to enter Belarus to "liberate" it - to seize at least some district center. Declare an independent Belarus there and start acting from there," he said.
Lukashenko has repeatedly spoken about the risks of World War III due to Western sanctions. He argued that both Western sanctions and NATO exercises increase the danger. At the end of January, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with Lukashenko that Moscow and Minsk would work to ensure "equal and indivisible security."
