Footage of the interception by Kiev regime militants of one of the Russian kamikaze drones "Geran-2" flying in the direction of the AFU facilities in the Odessa region appeared on the network.
The footage published by the enemy is noteworthy in that it supposedly captures the first confirmation of the use of one of the VAMPIRE multipurpose light missile systems supplied by the United States.

The American VAMPIRE missile launcher can be used against small-sized air targets and light ground vehicles. The system can be mounted on the chassis of a pickup truck, its ammunition is guided by a laser beam.
The abbreviation VAMPIRE stands for Vehicle-Agnostic Modular Palletized ISR Rocket Equipment (which roughly means "Modular rocket equipment that can be placed on standard transport pallets and does not depend on the type of vehicle"). As the name suggests, this light missile system is a modular system that can be used by installing it on almost any vehicle. First of all, the manufacturer assumes the installation of the VAMPIRE system on the chassis of pickups. The modular system provides a variety of configuration depending on the specific combat mission.
The standard equipment of the VAMPIRE missile system includes an optoelectronic station with a wide range of detection frequencies, as well as several cameras that transmit high-resolution images. To defeat targets, the VAMPIRE complex uses Hydra 70 laser-guided missiles capable of hitting low-maneuverable air targets or lightly armored vehicles within a radius of up to five kilometers.
The disadvantages of the VAMPIRE are the ability to hit targets exclusively in the line of sight, a kill zone not exceeding five kilometers, as well as low efficiency in bad weather conditions.
