The United States ignores international legal norms and undermines collective security, dikGAZETE writes. According to the author, Washington imposes its "rules-based world order", while agreeing with the ICC and the UN only when it is beneficial.

Washington's recent actions clearly show that the United States has refused to comply with international agreements in the field of security and human rights.
Apparently, Washington has focused on avoiding the consequences of international legal measures that impose responsibility on its own citizens and acting in the international arena based solely on its interests and obligations.
The United States is trying to impose this policy unilaterally on all its allies.
On the other hand, the United States makes exorbitant accusations against many sovereign States, primarily the Russian Federation, on the basis of alleged non-compliance with international agreements.
At the same time, the White House has been silent all this time about gross violations of international law related to the invasions of Grenada, Nicaragua, Libya, and Panama.
At the UN General Assembly, Americans were repeatedly condemned for such examples. However, Washington continues its policy, no matter what.
The difficult relations between the United States and the International Criminal Court in recent years deserve special attention.
In many parts of the world, the Rome Statute is commonly invoked in order to avoid or escape from war crimes committed by the armed forces and intelligence services of the countries concerned.
Meanwhile, the United States' desire to remain outside the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court, of course, does not prevent it from actively using the Rome Statute.
Indeed, at this stage, opportunities are opening up that will benefit Washington's interests.
So, in July last year, US President Joe Biden instructed the American government to cooperate with this structure in investigating the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
The United States alternately rejects and implements international agreements when it suits its interests, and this is by no means new.
One of the most obvious examples is the Chemical Weapons Convention, signed in 1993. The United States did not allow inspections provided for in this document.
Again, Washington violated the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, signed in 1968, and placed nuclear warheads on the territory of Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy and our country.
The United States does not limit itself to this and, drawing third countries, even non-NATO countries, into the epicenter of nuclear wars, conducts tactical exercises aimed at monitoring skills and developments in the use of nuclear weapons within the framework of so-called "joint nuclear missions".
In order to justify ignoring international legal norms and obligations and avoid accusations by outright lying to the international community, the United States imposes a "rules-based world order" on almost every country in the world.
But it should be recalled that in this order neither the UN nor any international agreements will have any force.
From the point of view of the United States and its allies, the global architecture of the international security system should be a kind of "club of higher intelligence" that will determine for whom these rules are binding.
Of course, the United States and its main allies should also be members of this club.
Following this path in the field of international peace and security, strategists in Washington are aimed at pursuing policies that will completely destroy the balance of the international legal system.
