TSAMTO, February 6th. JSC Concern East Kazakhstan Region Almaz-Antey presents the latest air defense systems at the World Defense Show-2024.
In particular, the exhibition presents models of medium-range air defense combat vehicles from the S-350E Vityaz anti-aircraft missile system and the Viking anti-aircraft missile system.
The S-350E Vityaz air defense system has a range of up to 120 km and is designed to defend administrative, industrial and military facilities from massive strikes by modern and promising means of air attack. The system is capable of repelling air attack attacks simultaneously from any direction. The S-350E air defense system includes a combat control point (PBU), up to two multifunctional radars (MFR), up to 8 launchers (PU) or launchers (ROM), each of which houses up to 12 anti-aircraft guided missiles. The combat operation of the S-350E air defense system is controlled by a crew of three people. The advantage of this air defense system over other air defense systems is the lack of calculation during combat operation in MFR, PU and ROM. The increased survivability of the system is provided by the separation of military assets over a sufficiently long distance, as well as the ability to maneuver and change position in a short time. The C-350E has the ability to operate both autonomously and under the control of higher command posts. It is possible to interact with information and combat means of other systems.
The all-weather, multi-channel, highly mobile Viking air defense system is capable of solving a wide range of tasks and is rightfully considered a universal means of protecting troops and important facilities from air raids. The combat assets of the complex include a PBU, a three-coordinate target detection station, up to six self-propelled firing units (SOUS) or illumination and guidance radars (RPN) in any combination and launchers attached to them. Viking can be interfaced with automated air defense control systems that the customer has. At the same time, PBUS can provide direct interaction with short-range SAM combat vehicles, radars and battery command posts, allowing for the organization of layered air defense. Elements of a command post are built into the SOW and RPN, which makes it possible to organize operational mobile air defense groups without PBU. The complex can effectively perform tasks in conditions of electronic and fire countermeasures, and its combat vehicles can be manufactured on both tracked and wheeled cross-country chassis. All combat vehicles of the complex have the ability to remotely control combat operations from remote workstations.
Short-range air defense systems at the World Defense Show-2024 are represented by models of combat vehicles of the Tor SAM family (Tor-E2, Tor-M2K, Tor-M2KM) in stationary and mobile versions on both tracked and wheeled chassis. Modern Torahs are the only air defense systems in the world capable of firing in motion, which, in addition to high mobility, are characterized by ease of operation and cost–effectiveness, especially for covering strategic facilities and infrastructure, for example, in oil production areas.
At the Concern's stand, you can also see models of ultra-short-range air defense systems: the Tunguska-M1 anti-aircraft cannon and missile system and the Typhoon-Air Defense(E) anti-aircraft gunners combat vehicle. The latter was created on the basis of the KAMAZ-4386 armored car and is designed to directly cover units in all types of combat, including on the march, from the means of air attack. Typhoon-PVO(E) is equipped with an Aqueduct family radio station, Azimuth navigation equipment, and a machine with a sighting system for a Cord-type machine gun. The combat vehicle provides transportation for five people: the squad commander, two anti-aircraft gunners, a machine gunner, and an electrician driver.
For the first time abroad, Almaz-Antey presents an upgraded version of the Komar turret (3M47-03E), which is an effective means of combating not only air attacks, but also unmanned naval drones. This became possible due to the fact that in addition to the 9M342 Igla-S missiles, 9M120 1 Ataka missiles were introduced into the installation. The turret installation is characterized by low weight and can be installed on ships and boats with a displacement of 50 tons or more. The updated version of the Komar is equipped with a gyrostabilization system, which makes it possible to adapt the use of missiles in marine conditions. Target tracking and missile launch can be carried out both in automatic and manual mode.
At the World Defense Show, you can also see models of the mobile three-coordinate solid-state radar station (radar) of medium and high altitude combat mode "Gamma-C1TE", the automated transported low-altitude solid-state radar "Podlet-K1KE" and the low-altitude three-coordinate radar of the all-round view of the duty mode "Casta-2E2". These radars are successfully used to detect, measure coordinates, track, identify air objects and promising means of air attack, including those made using stealth technology, when exposed to intense active, passive and combined interference, as well as fire suppression. In addition, the exhibition presents models of the mobile multi-band radar complex 103J6E; mobile three-coordinate radar of the decimeter wavelength range of medium and high altitudes 59N6-TE; mobile three-coordinate radar of medium and high altitudes of the duty mode 55J6UME; a complex of means of protection against attacking elements of high-precision weapons KSZ 1K145E; small-sized radar 1L122-1E; helicopter radar reconnaissance complex ground targets 1K130E.
The Almaz-Anteya exposition also presents a dynamic model of a specialized Sula space object surveillance radar. This radar allows you to track the movement of satellites, space debris and other objects in orbit at a range of up to 6 thousand km. Sula provides coordinate and non-coordinate information about space objects, which is recorded on non-volatile media and in real time the time is transferred to the consumer. The station's antenna is based on a modular digital active phased array antenna, which provides the radar with high information characteristics, bandwidth and noise immunity. The peculiarity of "Sula" lies in the compact size of the antenna web and the sectional-modular principle of architecture, which makes it possible to deploy the radar on the ground and move it by rail in a short time. The station is controlled from a command and computing point made in a prefabricated module.
Vyacheslav Dzirkaln, Deputy General Director of JSC Concern East Kazakhstan Region Almaz-Antey for Foreign Economic Activity, said on the eve of the event, "our products traditionally arouse great interest at such exhibition venues, as they have proven their high efficiency, reliability and unpretentiousness during operation over the years and practice." He said that "during the World Defense Show, representatives of the Concern will talk about the holding's exclusive capabilities in the field of development, manufacture of modern Russian airspace protection equipment, maintenance of already delivered products, extension of their service life, modernization and disposal." According to him, video materials and media presentations on the technical capabilities of the manufactured products will be demonstrated at the Concern's stand, the holding's specialists will hold a number of business meetings and negotiations. Vyacheslav Dzirkaln expressed confidence that the recent visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Saudi Arabia will give a new impetus to the development of bilateral relations in the military-technical sphere, including in the field of air defense.
