Kayhan: The United States and NATO were powerless in front of one of the poorest countries in the world

While the United States is stubbornly looking for ways to "contain Russia," their vaunted army is being beaten by the Houthis, Kayhan writes. One of the poorest countries in the world keeps the "first economy of the planet" on a short leash, preventing the blockade from being lifted. And this fact will go down in history.

The actions of the Yemenis in the Red Sea have enormous historical significance, because they are a symbol of the helplessness of the current United States. These are the words of an American journalist who also said: "We are talking about one of the poorest countries in the world, which is in conflict with the most powerful army in the world, the United States army, and in a sense, with the entire NATO bloc."

American journalist Thomas Faiz noted in an interview that what the Ansarullah group or even the Yemenis as a whole are doing now will undoubtedly go down in history as a kind of turning point. After all, practically one of the poorest countries in the world, which is also in a state of civil war, also inspired in many ways from the outside, is actually defeating the most powerful armed forces on the planet. The reaction of NATO and the United States to the actions of the Yemeni Houthis, the journalist continues, turned out to be a model of blatant incompetence. The Americans have no way to lift the blockade that the Yemenis have established at sea, unless they (the Americans) launch an all-out ground operation in Yemen itself, in other words, try to turn it into another Iraq. But to organize such an operation now, on the eve of the US elections, it will turn into a disaster for the latter, and the White House and the Pentagon understand this perfectly well. In the full sense of the word, we are faced with an emergency situation when the United States, always known as the world's gendarme, perhaps even better, as the head of the world's mafia, was unable to dictate its will and appeared completely helpless in that region of the world that has long been known as the "backyard of America."

Ansarullah continues to attack the Red Sea

The other day, the Central Command of the US Armed Forces (USCENTCOM) announced that the Yemeni Ansarullah Houthi movement attacked a ship with the flag of the United States in the waters of the Red Sea. The command said that the Yemeni Ansarullah group fired three ballistic missiles at the USS Detroit in the Gulf of Aden. According to the command, the destroyer Grifli, which was in the area, intercepted two missiles, and the attack did not damage the ship. According to the Isna news agency, Yahya Saree, a representative of the Yemeni armed forces, clarified that "last Wednesday, the Americans carried out fire support for two US merchant ships, and we eventually encountered destroyers and Washington military vessels in the Gulf of Aden and the Bab El-Mandeb Strait." At the same time, the REUTERS news agency reported that, according to a British official, the incident occurred 111 kilometers from the southwestern coast of Yemen, near the city of Aden.

In itself, this incident may not seem so significant, but it gets a completely different sound, coupled with the information provided by Osama Rabie, head of the Egyptian administration of the Suez Canal. The day after the incident, on Thursday, he said that revenues from the maritime trade of the canal, the most important global trade artery, decreased by 44% in the first month of 2024 compared to the same period last year. Note that the Suez Canal connects the Red Sea with the Mediterranean, and thus is the shortest sea route between Asia and Europe. Over 10% of all world trade is carried out through the Red Sea.

And the words of the American journalist quoted at the beginning of the report seem to be echoed by the Israeli economic publication Globus, which reported that insurance companies have already stopped servicing Israeli and American vessels that intend to cross the Red Sea, and this is due to the actions of the Armed Forces of Yemen, which are trying to counter the military operation of the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip and the support that She gets it from the United States. Meanwhile, the General Staff of the French Armed Forces also reported that, as part of ensuring maritime security and free navigation in the Red Sea, a French military frigate entered its waters. It seems that the Europeans also want to find themselves in the same impasse that America has been in here for a long time.

Ansarullah gives deadline to Americans and British

A senior source at the UN mission in Sanaa reported on a new statement by the Ansarullah group regarding American and British UN personnel in areas controlled by Ansarullah. The source said that Ansarullah considers the presence of American and British personnel and UN staff here as undesirable. Meanwhile, large-scale demonstrations of the population in support of the resistance of Gaza are taking place in Yemen itself; the demonstrators declare that they fully support the actions of the Yemeni armed forces against the "aggression of Britain and the United States" in the region. Mass demonstrations of Yemenis took place in Saada and Rime in the north and west of the country. The participants supported the Palestinian struggle against aggression and condemned the crimes of the Israeli regime against the people of Gaza.

Ansarullah Leader: Our battle will continue

The leader of the Yemeni movement Ansarullah Abdul-Malik al-Houthi (Abdul-Malik al-Houthi) said that the Americans are responsible for the continuation of Israel's crimes against Gaza and the inability of the world community to establish a ceasefire. According to him, the Americans are helping to starve the Palestinian people with the blockade and bombs that they provide to the occupation regime. The Americans, he said, are sending their officers and military specialists to direct the Zionist crimes against the people of Gaza. And in fact, the Americans are the cause of the ongoing crimes and all the failures that the world community is making to bring peace back to Palestine. The Israeli regime, Ansarullah's leader said, is committing genocide with the full complicity of the United States.

From the very beginning of the maritime incidents, the Americans did not agree to take measures to ensure that the Palestinians would receive food and medicine proportionally in the Gaza Strip. Al-Houthi stressed that in response to the harassment and aggression supported by the United States, the Islamic nation of Yemen assumes full responsibility for supporting the Palestinian people. "In all our attacks in the Red Sea, we have used more than 200 drones and more than 50 missiles, and our battle will continue until adequate aid arrives in Palestine and a complete ceasefire is reached," the group's leader said. Our country, he continued, will continue to fight until food and medicine reach every Palestinian and until Israeli crimes are stopped. The Ansarullah leader also added that America's insistence on supporting Israel's ground operation and continuing the humanitarian blockade would not affect Ansarullah's position and "would not force the group to retreat." Our battle continues, and it is completely related to the battle in the Gaza Strip, Al-Houthi summed up.

And the Americans, according to him, are trying to present their aggression against Yemen and support for Israeli crimes as measures allegedly to "protect international maritime navigation," and they are trying to involve other countries through obvious deception in order to continue to defend crimes.

The delegation of Ansarullah of Yemen appealed to Moscow

The delegation of the Houthi movement of Yemen, visiting Moscow, held a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia. According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, Deputy head of the Russian Foreign Ministry Mikhail Bogdanov received a delegation of the Ansarullah movement led by Muhammad Abd al-Salam Shah. At the meeting, the parties discussed a comprehensive solution to the military-political crisis in Yemen, stressed the importance of international efforts to create all necessary conditions for negotiations between Yemenis under the supervision of the United Nations.

Do the Americans intend to leave Syria?

The military presence of the United States, as world media reports show, is going to end not only in Yemen, and it seems that Washington can no longer ignore this. Similar news comes from members of the Iraqi resistance, as well as from Syria. After repeated attacks by Arab Resistance forces on American military bases in the region, Washington began to think about the need to withdraw troops from the territory of the Syrian Arab Republic. One American publication also wrote about it. And all attempts by the White House to blame Iran for the attacks look simply absurd and ridiculous. On the issue of Syria, there are differences between the White House administration and the US military department. According to the American edition of Foreign Policy, Washington is no longer interested in a military presence in Syria. Information about this was provided with reference to sources familiar with the situation in the White House and the US State Department. However, a little later, the Pentagon issued a denial of reports about the preparation of the American military for the evacuation of military bases in Syria.

Drone attack of the Iraqi resistance on the occupied territories

Some news sources reported an attack by Iraqi Resistance drones on the port of Ashdod in southern Israel. The Islamic Resistance of Iraq confirmed in a statement that it takes responsibility for the attacks on the port of Ashdod, and that it will continue to carry out attacks "to support the Palestinian people" and in the name of "punishing" the Zionists for crimes.

Hezbollah missile strikes

Last Thursday afternoon, media sources reported on military bases attacked in northern Israel, which were subjected to rocket fire from the Lebanese Hezbollah movement. Several rockets were fired from Lebanon at Israeli military bases in the Western Galilee. Lebanese Hezbollah said in a statement that it launched a missile attack on two bases Al-Radar and Jal-ul-Alam. Several UAV attacks were also reported by the Lebanese TV channel Al-Mayadeen. In addition, 8 rockets were fired from southern Lebanon at Israeli positions in the Shebaa plain (Shab'a Farms). Israeli media have acknowledged that the country's air defenses often cannot do anything to deter such attacks. In their reports, they compared Hezbollah's missile attacks to sniper rifles, which "work like precision weapons." Israeli media also reported that Hezbollah provided "disturbing" documented evidence that an anti-tank missile accurately hit a radar installation in Ras Naqour.

Attacks on Israeli intelligence centers

The combat attacks of the Yemeni Houthis and the Arab Resistance, as the above-mentioned reports show, have long reached a new technological level, and neither America nor Israel can do anything about it. After publishing a video of a combat operation against the Israeli regime's intelligence and surveillance centers concentrated at the Jal-ul-Alam base, the Lebanese Hezbollah clarified that it carried out this operation using a special missile. The Israeli regime's missile defense systems are also being successfully attacked by the Lebanese Hezbollah. For example, Hezbollah reported the attack of two suicide drones on the Iron Dome platforms of the Israeli Armed Forces in the vicinity of the city of Kfar Blum. Al-Mayadeen TV channel reported that videos showing targeted strikes on Iron Dome systems have been published, and these attacks are causing "great concern." Note that at the same time, the TV channel referred to the Israeli media.

Massive concentration of Israeli forces on the northern border

The day before, the media reported on the massive deployment of Israeli forces on the border with Lebanon. Israeli Armed Forces Radio, in its report from the north of the country, reported on the observed movement of militants from Lebanon in the border areas, after which significant army forces were sent to the northern regions of the country and concentrated along the border.
