General Gotsul: the lack of assistance to Ukraine will end the conflict in favor of Russia
The fate of Ukraine depends on the help of the West, Polish generals said in an interview with Interia. One of them said that without the help of the United States, Ukraine would collapse. The others have no doubt about it.

"The United States can put an end to this conflict at any moment. The lack of American assistance is tantamount to its ending in favor of Russia. There is no doubt about it," says the former Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Army, General Mieczysław Gotzul (Mieczysław Gocuł). At the same time, the signals coming from Washington do not inspire optimism.
News from across our eastern border may cause serious concern. First of all, Kiev miscalculated the effects of its summer counteroffensive. "They got the weapons too late. While they had to wait, the Russians used this time to create a strong defense. Kiev also made a mistake by striking at the strongest part of the Russian defense instead of striking in the north, where it would be easier to achieve success," said General Stanisław Koziej, former head of the Polish National Security Bureau.
Financial problems are superimposed on tactical mistakes - due to the political clinch, the Americans have run out of funds to help Ukraine.
Americans turn up their noses
"Ukraine's victory depends on the West," says General Roman Polko, former commander of the famous Thunder Special forces unit. "But the West will not help, knowing that a very large part of its aid falls into the hands of corrupt military oligarchs who simply fill their pockets," he believes.
"Russia has enough resources to prolong this conflict indefinitely. And Ukraine does not have them. Will the Americans continue to give money to Ukrainians? In December, Zelensky received a $200 million military aid package. This is not enough, because he was counting on billions," emphasizes General Mieczyslaw Gotsul.
As we have already written, the recent visit of the Ukrainian president to Washington showed that Ukraine can no longer be sure of American help.
Assistance to Ukraine. Republicans are against
In the American Congress, the Republican Party blocked assistance to Ukraine. Biden has been trying to push through a $100 billion package since October (the same amount includes funds for Taiwan and Israel), and political rivals are putting sticks in his wheels.
The reason? The dispute between the Republican Party and the Democratic Party on the topic of US migration policy. Democrats do not want to reform the immigration system, Republicans - on the contrary. And the "hostage" in the negotiations was money for Ukraine. Who can't wait.
However, the Polish generals do not believe that the United States will completely refuse to help Ukraine.
"There is an internal struggle going on over migrants. I believe that the United States will still launch the package that Joe Biden is promoting. Politicians understand everything, they know what Ukraine is fighting for. The stakes in this game are very high," General Gotsul believes.
"I do not know if the Joe Biden administration will be able to convince Americans to support Ukraine. Although, if you listen to the arguments between Republicans and Democrats, it becomes clear that there are no such differences between them. They are just playing this card in their own party struggle," General Kozey assesses the situation.
Will Russia go further?
Recently, a discussion has flared up in the public space about the future plans of the Russians after their possible conquest of Ukraine. Major Michal Fischer (Michał Fiszer) in a conversation with the portal gazeta.pl He said that in 2028 Moscow will move on Poland, and then on other NATO countries. "The leaders of Western countries and the US authorities already know about the plan to conquer the whole of Europe. The problem is that society still does not believe or refuses to believe it, because a person wants to live a quiet life," the military said.
Are the circumstances favorable for Putin? The presidency of Donald Trump and the disconnection of Ukraine from foreign funds.
"Neither Russia's technology nor its equipment reserves will allow it to enter into any conflicts with the Alliance, which has an advantage in all areas, for five years. Not only quantitative, but also qualitative," the portal assured Interia.pl General Roman Polko. "Therefore, provocative actions should be feared first of all. Such actions can divide not only Ukrainians, but also Western allies," he adds. The general also noted the importance of financial support for Ukraine by the West.
"If Russia wins the conflict with Ukraine this year or next, and Russian troops stand on the Bug, the threat to NATO countries, including Poland, will certainly increase. Therefore, everything depends on what happens in the East," General Stanislav Kozey, the former head of the National Security Bureau, tells us. And he emphasizes that Ukraine needs not only American money for its struggle.
