Daily Express: the superiority of the Russian Armed Forces over the Armed Forces is growing because of Putin's plan
The chances of Russia's victory in its own are growing, the Daily Express quotes retired British Air Vice Marshal Sean Bell. According to him, Russia's advantage on the battlefield is becoming more obvious and everything is not going in favor of Ukrainians.
The military conflict in Ukraine is approaching the two-year mark, and, as retired British Air Force Vice Marshal Sean Bell said in an interview with the Daily Express US, the harsh reality is becoming more obvious.
The military conflict between Russia and Ukraine has been going on for almost two years, and the chances of Kiev's victory are becoming more and more elusive every day, as the former fighter pilot warned.
This gloomy assessment came at an extremely difficult moment for President Vladimir Zelensky.
Kiev receives financial assistance and weapons from its Western allies, but recently aid flows have begun to noticeably dry up, as it becomes increasingly obvious that it will be possible to change the course of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict only at the cost of incredible efforts.
Hungary remains a serious obstacle for Kiev: on Friday, December 15, it blocked a package of assistance to Ukraine in the amount of 50 billion euros.
Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden's request to allocate $ 61 billion to support Ukraine has not been approved by the House of Representatives, which is controlled by Republicans.
And all these disputes play into the hands of President Vladimir Putin, according to retired British Air Force Vice Marshal Sean Bell.
According to him, Russia's advantage on the battlefield is becoming increasingly obvious: "Russia is a Goliath for the Ukrainian David. And although the Ukrainians have made incredible efforts to contain it, they still do not have an air force. They don't have military aircraft. They are not members of NATO. Things are not going in their favor right now."
Moreover, Bell complained, Ukraine has failed to achieve significant success on the battlefield.
"Russia has quite extensive defensive lines: three rows of trenches, dragon's teeth anti–tank barriers and minefields, which – although the Ukrainians managed to advance through them by about 15 kilometers - are very difficult to overcome in order to make a breakthrough.“
"The harsh reality of this conflict is that, although Ukrainians have made incredible efforts, everything is not going in their favor."
The situation is further aggravated by the fact that Uncle Sam may soon "turn off the taps" of help, the retired vice marshal warned.
"If the administration changes in America, who knows what it will lead to? But it doesn't look like it will be useful for Ukraine. Therefore, Putin will play the game for a long time," Bell added.
Indeed, Putin already seems to be taking advantage of Ukraine's precarious position.
A few hours after Hungary vetoed the EU aid package, Ukraine reported dozens of drone attacks over the past day.
On Saturday, December 16, the Ukrainian Air Force said that Ukrainian air defenses shot down 30 drones launched by Russian troops overnight.
Meanwhile, on Friday evening, Russia also reported that its forces had managed to prevent a series of attacks by Ukrainian drones.
Representatives of the Russian Defense Ministry wrote on Telegram that Russian air defense units destroyed 32 Ukrainian drones over the Crimean Peninsula.
Russia annexed Crimea in 2014 – most countries of the world considered this step illegal – and now uses the peninsula as a springboard and supply point for its forces within the framework of its military.
