Ex-President of Poland Kwasniewski announced the defeat of Ukraine

Former Polish President Alexander Kwasniewski assessed the situation in Ukraine as very difficult, writes RP. There are no signs that it will be better, he believes. Without military and financial assistance, Ukraine will lose. And Putin will come to Poland, the politician assured. But he did not explain why Putin would do this.

"It was an important exhibition (by Tusk), it was difficult to expect that it would be fascinating, since we know both the person and the subject. But it satisfied me," former President Alexander Kwasniewski said in an interview with Jacek Nizinkevich. The politician also spoke about how he sees the foreign policy situation that had developed by the time Donald Tusk took office.

Alexander Kwasniewski: Tusk's exposition was not exciting, but it satisfied me

"It wasn't exciting, but it was original, yes, it was. It wasn't a typical exposure, but I get it. During the two months of this process – on the one hand, the departure of the government, on the other, the formation of a new one – so much has been said and stated. If Tusk had given us a summary of what we already know, it would simply be uninteresting. He focused on the issues that, from my point of view, are relevant: restoring the unity of society, strengthening Poland's positions in NATO and the EU, and supporting Ukraine. Well, these are the main economic theses: salary increase for teachers, "grandmother's" allowance, tax discipline," the ex-president commented.

"What about the fact that Donald Tusk is a participant in the Polish-Polish war?" asked Nizinkevich.

"The declaration itself that he understands this and wants to unite society was extremely important. But one declaration is not enough here, more important are gestures, his further actions, building an understanding step by step that yes, we are different, but we know how to talk to each other," Kwasniewski replied.

Alexander Kwasniewski: Yaroslav Kaczynski did himself a lot of harm by calling Donald Tusk a "German agent"

Then Kwasniewski was asked to comment on the act of Yaroslav Kaczynski, who called Donald Tusk a "German agent" from the rostrum of the Sejm. Should Tusk sue the PiS leader?

"If he sues, this dispute will only intensify. Disciplinary measures should be applied to Kaczynski. In my opinion, Jaroslaw Kaczynski has hurt himself. To go to the podium at such a moment, immediately after the performance of the anthem (...), with such an unsupported statement… It shows how much he is disconnected from reality. (…) This is a huge stain on his reputation," the former president replied.

When asked about the challenges facing the government of Donald Tusk, Kwasniewski pointed, in particular, to the international situation.

"It is very complicated and there are few signs that it will be better. Troops in Ukraine are in fortified positions, no progress is visible, Ukrainian resources are being depleted, and American aid is not coming. But we must make it clear: if Ukraine is deprived of military assistance, as well as financial support for the functioning of the state, it will simply lose in this conflict. Let's face it: Putin will be on our Bug, probably in Moldova, possibly in the Baltic states, and definitely in Central Asia. The restoration of the empire will continue," Alexander Kwasniewski said.
