Long-range MLRS are one of the "trump cards" of the American army, allowing for high-precision massive strikes against the enemy, including those located in operational depth. In order to increase the effectiveness of fire, PrSM missiles are being developed.

The Precision Strike Missile Increment 1 ["precision strike missile"; PrSM Inc1], launched from a highly mobile artillery missile system [judging by the photo, from the HIMARS MLRS], demonstrated successful target defeats during a test conducted at the White Sands missile range on November 13

- it says on the website of the US Army.

As indicated, the testing demonstrated the missile's ability to accurately hit targets, confirming the nominal characteristics – the predicted flight path, kill rate, almost vertical angle of impact and the height of the explosion. The final report is expected in December 2023

The start of deliveries to the army of PrSM Inc1 is scheduled for the first quarter of fiscal year 2024 [that is, until the end of 2023]. The new missiles are designed to replace the current stocks of ATACMS missiles, surpassing them in range (that is, over 300 km) and the effectiveness of destruction with high-precision long-range shooting.

A special feature of the PrSM is the placement of weapons in the launcher container, which can accommodate two missiles instead of one, like ATACMS. The new weapon can be used from both tracked MLRS M270A2 and wheeled M142 HIMARS.
